Kelli Becker Poetry

Kelli Becker Poetry Kelli Becker Poetry is not written to be easily read—it’s written to be felt. This is poetry for the ones who don’t just observe life—
but step inside it. Raw.

These pieces live beneath the surface, in the unpolished spaces we don’t always have words for. Intimate. Unfiltered. If it reaches you, it was meant to.

You can leave that jackrabbit at the door.
You’re gonna need to row a bit to meet my shores.
Did someone teach you to only take?
Boo, there’s an ocean here,
You gotta row and wait..
Did you miss the memo we sent on how to open the gate?
Trying to be on time, but you ended up late.
Out here looking for a release
Thinking that it comes with ease
Knowing it won’t give you peace
To siphon magic you couldn’t please.
In short:
High speed velocity
Doesn’t end in reciprocity

Let her be brave,

until she comes running back to your leg.

Let her try it out,

until she looks back over her shoulder for your eyes.

Let her wonder,

what it will be like without you.

Let her call you,

When she's away,

just to say she misses you.

Let her stretch her wings,

until she needs a safe place to land.

Let her be who she can be,

until she needs a helping hand.

Let life burn her feathers,

and offer a place to mend.

Let her leave fingerprints,

on the lives she touches.

Let her come home muddy-kneed,

and laughing.

Let her captain,

the storms that need passing.

Let her know,

that from the first time.

she reached for you

with those tiny hands-

and sweet little feet,

That next to you,

she will always have a seat.
