Sometimes when I’m on my mat I can settle right into the session. Today my mind was a little busy with thoughts and I was feeling antsy. I knew my mind, body and spirt needed this time carved out for just me. I gave myself 26minutes out of a 24hour day. This time on the mat isn’t meant for perfection or shhhhhing the mind, it honoring who you are and meeting yourself where you are at mentally,physically and spiritually in that moment. Your brain needs good fats!

Did you know that the brain is nearly 60% fat?

The last few months I have taken more of a ketogenic approach to food. Which means incorporating more high fat(good fats) with low carb(sugars or food that turn to sugar in the body).

This has been a game changer for my overall health but also how my brian functions. I have more focus, energy and more of a positive outlook/mood.

My plate consist of avocado sprinkled with hemp seeds(good fat), chipotle lime mayo made with avocado oil(good fat), Boars Head chicken(protein)and pickles(contain electrolytes, aids in digestion and curb sugar spikes). Aka a sandwich without the bread.

Today I talked to my 7 year old about being scared and brave all at the same time.

She was getting some blood drawn and was scared and I said “it’s ok to be scared but even if your scared you can be brave too”

I could only speak this truth to her because I myself have been scared and brave all at the same time.

Going back to school, opening my own coaching business and diving deeper then I ever thought I could into self-love and acceptance.

The courage that it takes to walk down the path that is lit up in your heart can be both scary and brave all wrapped up together.

The enemy loves to use our aches to tempt us to turn away from God and ultimately turn inward to satisfy our longings. Turning inward tempts us to look to things like food, money and success for our satisfaction. But, these things, void of God, will leave us restless.
