Dementia Care Solutions of East TN A little information about me...

My name is Kim Warnick.

Providing education, training, skills and resources, so care partners may be confident in knowing that they have prepared themselves with the right tools to honor their loved one during this journey. I am an Independent Dementia Care Consultant with a bachelor's degree in Human Ecology from the University of Tennessee. After losing three family members to dementia and walking this journey with my

mother, I chose to take a leap of faith and follow my passion to ensure that no family faces this alone. I am a volunteer with local Alzheimer's organizations and a dedicated advocate for families living with dementia. My most rewarding experience is serving in an adult day program where I am able to see first-hand how important it is for those living with dementia to remain socially active and engaged. I strive to make our local communities more dementia friendly in order to provide better support for the person with dementia and their care team. My mission is to walk side by side with families, help them navigate through the challenging times and show them that they can still find hope, faith and joy in each day. My Certifications...

This is history in the making! 💜

In a large research study, reported for the first time at and partially funded by the Association, blood tests 🩸 did a better job of accurately detecting Alzheimer's than primary care doctors and specialists who were using traditional diagnostic methods.

The test was around 90% accurate in identifying Alzheimer’s in patients with cognitive symptoms at primary care and specialized memory care clinics compared to 63% and 73% accuracy when not using the test.

Why this is exciting: Highly accurate blood tests could drastically reduce the time it takes to get a diagnosis, as well as accelerate access to new treatments.

This is such an exciting time in Alzheimer’s research! Hope for future!

Breaking News: The FDA has granted approval of Kisunla (donanemab) for the treatment of people living with early symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease. We celebrate Kisunla’s approval as more options mean greater opportunity for more time. This is the third approval of an Alzheimer’s treatment that changes the underlying course of the disease. bit.ly/3XIyyvf
