The change of the seasons as well as my curiosity on how this new season will inevitably create now possibilities on my life is the space I am holding currently and I am seeing quite a few!

These days as I work to balance family, running a business and self care I am not posting as often, but when I do I try and make it potent. I stumbled across this article about how seemingly harmless products are sabotaging our health at the deepest levels; increasing risk for so many terrible health concerns including cancer.
If you feel frustrated with how many awful ingredients are used in our products and how difficult they are to track and identify like me, try buying more natural products instead or make your own! It's tons cheaper and way fun!
I sometimes just search for a recipie for home made hair mask or deep conditioner. I even enjoy learning about what skin cleansers I can make myself. They usually are much more effective, smell super yummy and really easy.
Here is a hair pack I'm dying to try!
Vanilla when mixed with other ingredients can make your hair silky, shiny and smooth. You can prepare a hair pack for this purpose. Melt about 4 oz. shea butter in a boiler. After it has fully melted, add 5 drops of vanilla essential oil and 2 tablespoons each of almond, jojoba and castor oils. After cooling, blend this mixture until it achieves a softer consistency. You can apply this mixture on your hair for 10 to 15 minutes and wash off with a mild shampoo. This will make your hair soft and manageable without making it sticky. This mixture can be stored at room temperature or refrigerated for future use.

It has been a while since my last post. As fall settles in I am grateful for my toolbox of wisdom that has been filled by so many wonderful teachers. Of all I have learned this is amoung the top!
Here's one thing that can make a world of difference...OIL!
4 ways to apply oil daily:
1. Nasya. Oil in the nose. Wonderful for dry sinuses, allergies and calming the nervous system.
2. Kavala. Oil Pulling. Put a couple table spoons of oil in your mouth and swish from 5-20 min then spit out in the toilet to avoid clogging drains. Awesome at extraction get excess mucus and toxins as well as regenerate healing for the teeth and gums.
3. Abhyanga. Self Massage. Rub warm oil all over yourself, especially the feet and scalp. Let sit for 15-20 min then rinse off in a warm showe. No soap needed :) luxurious!!
4. Kara purna. Oil in ear. Put a couple drops of oil in each ear and let sit with head tilted for a couple of mon then let drain out onto a washcloth. Very grounding and calming as well as great for the nervous system.

Did and experiment yesterday-
Try to meet each challenge and negativity with softness and grace- to embody some give and less force. Dissipate and transform intensity through surrender.
What can I say- IT WORKED! It definitely didn't exactly change anyone else but what DID happen was that my experience shifted tremendously!
Frustration, anger, resentment & heat (aka- tight jaw, tight shoulders and shallow breathing) were replaced with compassion, patience, energetic fortitude and peaceful mind (aka- soft shoulders, open heart, connection to my center and deep breaths). I literally felt any need for my vices simultaneously dissipate.
Like a vacation from myself by returning to my Self. Ha!

Pitta pacifying hummus:
1 can garbanzo beans
1 can artichoke hearts
Lots of fresh mint leaves
Tsp of cumin, onion powder & garlic powder
Chill for 1 hour
I found facebooks prompt "what have you been up to lately" hilarious this morning as well as appropriate for this post as I have taken quite a break from my postings as I am settling in as a new mama.
Today I'd like to share my new favorite recipe with you all....Super delish and filled with mega super foods!
Chia and Flax Breakfast Cereal:
1/8th cup freshly ground flax
1/8th cup Chia seeds whole
Pour hot water over them and let soak 1-2 min and add:
Raw and unsalted nuts- I love pecans or walnuts- (so good for both brain function, specifically pituitary and pineal glands- yep we are talkin 3rd eye here people!)
A sprinkle of raw pumpkin seeds (anti-paracidic)
Handful of fresh blueberries or dried cranberries (Lots of Antioxidants)
A scoop of you favorite nut butter- i love Justins (Protein Punch)
A blast of great fats, fiber and superfoods - warm and nourishing. And most important FAST- I mean it- faster than eggs or even instant oatmeal without the crash and blood sugar spike so you stay level headed and energized

Health Tip: How to attack Seasonal Allergies with Sesame Oil and Whiten Your Teeth at the Same Time!
I sesame oil because you can put it everywhere! Well...almost everywhere, for some things more....ummm... intimate, coconut oil is my oil of choice :) However the healing properties of oil in general and specifically sesame oil are truly profound!
Use of the day: Sesame Oil Mouth Wash
Every morning take 1 TBSP of sesame oil and swish away for 10 to 20 minutes. It will liquefy more and more over time as you swish. Once your time is up spit it out into the toilette so as not to clog your pipes. Rinse with warm water and brush your teeth as usual with an all natural toothpaste. Ahhhhhh.
I have known about this practice now for a few years and am just now incorporating it into my routine. Why?
Because I have horrible seasonal allergies! Incapacitating! I was desperate for something to cure not treat them! In my research I found this practice to be proven to eliminate congestion, runny noses, sneezing etc. So I am doing it! Every time I do, I literally feel the mucus drawing from my sinuses into the oil! Its amazing! My nose is clear and my throat and ears don't itch.
And the benefits don't stop there! My teeth are significantly whiter in just 1 week!
Oral Health Benefits:
• Overall strengthening of the teeth and gums and jaws
• Prevention cavities and gingivitis
• Prevention for bad breath
• Potential holistic remedy for bleeding gums
• Prevention of dryness of the lips, mouth and throat

Benefits Beyond The Mouth:
It is believed that these oils help the lymphatic system of the body as harmful bacteria are removed and beneficial microflora are given with a healthy environment to flourish.

Sesame oil is particularly high in the antioxidants, sesamol, sesamin, and sesamolin. It also holds a high concentration of Vitamin E and polyunsaturated fatty acids. These antioxidants have been found to stop the absorption of negative forms of cholesterol in the liver.
