We honor and celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through our actions and service year-round. As an American hero whose words continue to inspire us to work for equitable access to healthcare for all, GMR commemorates the work of Dr. King and invites all to celebrate a culture that believes in community and diversity across our country.
Our thoughts are with our colleagues at LVFR.
Prayers and condolences for the family and friends.
When it comes to bad luck, there are few superstitions as pervasive in Western culture as that of Friday the 13th. Like crossing paths with a black cat and breaking a mirror, the notion of a day that can bring misfortune is deeply embedded — even if believers can't quite explain why.
There's even a name to describe the irrational dread of the date: paraskevidekatriaphobia — a specialized form of triskaidekaphobia, a fear of the number 13.
Today we honor and say "Thank you" to the men and women who tirelessly protect our communities.
AMR, CCFD, and LVFR all worked together with BLM to get a badly injured hiker out of the Red Rocks and provide the medical care needed along the way.
Strong work to all teams involved!

International Mind-Body Wellness Day
Your mind and body have a powerful connection. How you think can impact how you feel, and how you feel can impact how you think. International Mind-Body Wellness Day seeks to raise awareness for the important relationship between your emotional and physical wellness. Check out these tips from the University of Michigan Health on healing both your body and mind.

We are thankful for our incredible team that continues to serve tirelessly. We look forward to serving our communities at a moment’s notice in 2023. Have a safe and joyous New Year!
Plan smart and safely!
This is a much cheaper alternative then a DUI or jail time.
As you make plans to ring in the new year, AMR reminds you to also take time to plan for a safe celebration. Follow these safety tips for your New Year’s Eve gatherings:
· Plan ahead for a safe ride home. Establish a designated driver before attending parties or events, or plan to use a rideshare service. Do not drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Arrange to drive youth to and from holiday activities, as they may find it difficult to decline a ride from a friend who is impaired.
· Practice fireworks safety. Never use fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Follow all instructions on the packaging and light fireworks one at a time, then move back quickly. Keep a bucket of water or hose nearby as a precaution. Do not aim, throw or point fireworks at people, animals, vehicles or structures.
· Keep your eye on the kitchen. Never leave food unattended while cooking on the stovetop. Set a timer to remind you the stovetop or oven is on and keep anything that can catch fire away from the stovetop. Reduce the risk of food poisoning by using slow cookers, chafing dishes and warming trays to keep food warm. Keep cold foods at or below 40 degrees by placing serving dishes in bowls of ice or replacing small serving trays frequently with fresh trays from the refrigerator.
We hope you have a fun and safe New Year’s Eve!
Saying goodbye to a colleague is never easy to do.
We were honored to take part in the procession for our HFD brother.
Don't just throw those Christmas trees out!
Recycle them!
Warmest wishes on this Christmas Day!
With so many parties, festivities and events to attend, AMR offers the following safety tips to keep your pets safe and sound this holiday season.
· Seasonal Plants - Avoid having holly, mistletoe and poinsettias in reach of pets as they can be toxic if ingested.
· Decorations - Always keep anything that may be ingested out of the reach of pets, such as tinsel and ornaments, which can become lodged within the gastrointestinal tract and require surgery.
· Light Strands and Cords - Place Christmas lights, electrical cords and candles out of reach of pets as they can be a fire hazard and lead to electric shock. To prevent pets from experiencing shock, consider using a protective cord covering to prevent teeth from sinking in.
· Food - Pets should always be kept away from any items containing xylitol, alcohol, fatty meats, bones, and most importantly, chocolate-which can become lethal if ingested even in the smallest quantity.
· Noise - Ensure your pets have a quiet room as fireworks, horns, bells and whistles can be frightening to pets.

A celebration of life service will follow at Central Christian Church beginning at 1 p.m. The ceremony is open to all who wish to pay their respects to the fallen firefighter.
Clete Dadian dedicated 22 years of service to the Henderson Fire Department and the Henderson community.
AMR wants you to play it safe this holiday season. New toys and games can be fun, but they can also be dangerous if misused or fall into the hands of children too young to play with them. Remember these safety tips when purchasing or receiving toys and games this season.
· Consider a child’s age when purchasing a toy or game – read warning labels to make sure it is age-appropriate
· Check to make sure there aren’t any small parts or other potential choking hazards for young children
· Look for points, edges or breakable parts that could be sharp and avoid those toys for children under eight
· Include safety equipment when purchasing toys such as bicycles, skateboards or roller skates
· Use a bin or container to store toys to avoid tripping hazards.
Winter holidays are a fun time to gather and celebrate. The holidays are also a time of increased fire risk and accidents in the home. AMR offers these guidelines to help keep your holiday season safe.
· Holiday entertaining – keep an eye on the range (unattended cooking is the leading cause of house fires) and be sure your smoke detectors are working.
· Holiday lighting – use caution with decorations and choose flame-resistant, flame-retardant and non-combustible materials when possible. Use only certified lights for outdoor decorating.
· Indoor decorations – choose decorations made of non-leaded materials. Keep candles away from children, decorations and live plants.
· Trees – check for freshness when purchasing a live tree (green with needles hard to pull from branches) and look for a “fire-resistant” label when purchasing an artificial tree.
· Fire prevention – always turn off your decorations when you leave your home and when you’re sleeping. Most deadly fires happen while people are asleep.
Today is the 1st day of winter! (Officially)❄️☃️❄️
For the northern half of Earth (the Northern Hemisphere), the winter solstice occurs annually on December 21 or 22. (For the Southern Hemisphere, the solstice occurs on June 20 or 21.) The winter solstice is the day with the fewest hours of sunlight in the whole year, making it the “shortest day” of the year.
Sunrise Hospital closed out Lights of Love this year, and what a great success!

· Establish a designated driver before attending events and parties

· Discuss the dangers of underage alcohol and substance abuse, especially when combined with operating motor vehicles, with young family members and friends
