How do you know when you are not at your best?
Physically, mentally, emotionally, energetically, spiritually,...
Maybe it’s not an issue for you but it has been for me lately. So many moving parts with so much transition makes it tougher to know.
Having a daily practice that test you mentally, physically, or both at the same time will help you stayed focus.
Some like yoga, meditation, some use their work.
Me? I like Olympic Lifting.

The big idea that I (re)learned this weekend:
The people who are doing work to evolve our society are happy Because of their hard work.
A life without service is a life without happiness.
Find what inspires your soul and share that with the world. Get out of our comfort zone, out of our shiloh. Only by doing that which makes us feel uncomfortable will we evolve.

The secret ingredient is,…

Chances are if you know about gut health or interested in your overall health you’ve heard about the gut biome. AKA how healthy bacteria help your digestion, immune system and mood.

Besides improving the gut biome fermentation is the original food storage method. Taking fresh vegetables and making them shelf-stable for long winters. These good bacteria that are part of the fermentation and healthy gut biome are living and therefore react to the energy of other living creatures. Like you and me.

So without any scientific research, I labeled my sauerkraut “I am Love”. Instructing all who come into the kitchen to add the special ingredient in the sauerkraut.

Don’t tell my family but it’s also a great way to practice more positive affirmations. A powerful tool I recommend to all my clients.

Anyone who doesn't understand farming can improve soil, sequester carbon, raise happy animals, has never heard of @ Polyface farm.
Joels Salatin does this all for an affordable cost. Seriously the best eggs I've ever had for $4 a doz 😳

Salsa, a must-have for any lazy bachelor-bachelorette kitchen.

Yes I know tomatoes are technically a fruit and not a vegetable. Yes, I know tomatoes are in the nightshade family. Which contain lectins.

Lectins are high on the usual suspects list for to leaky gut. So I’m not saying have some every meal. But occasionally it shouldn’t be a problem.

Salsa:
Doesn’t contain sugar, (Crap ones do but good ones are easy to find).
Naturally grain and gluten free.
Fairly refrigerator or shelf-stable.

Taking some leftovers scramble in some eggs and top with a little salsa.
Salsa is the flavor bomb your boring eggs are screaming for.

Adding lots of flavor in a couple spoonful.

Guacamole is delicious, nutritious and expensive. Get more by adding more to those damn expensive avocados.

I add sauerkraut, (for the gut health) which adds a little tangy fermented flavor.
Or
Parts of vegetable greens. Taste it first. If they don't have much flavor its perfect. Add to your guac and your money will go farther.

Ever notice how with better quality the less you have to cook something.
Sushi grade salmon, beef tartare and I’ve even heard of chicken tartare.
I’m not recommending it just saying it’s possible when you source your proteins correctly.

My Story

LaBonté Nutrition & Wellness helps clients find the simplest way to improve their health. Through conversations, years of coaching experience and extensive research Jerry makes suggestions to change habits. Habits which in turn change hormones and therefore overall health. Through understanding of how habits form our lives and minor adjustments to change poor habits into good ones.

With this style of coaching/counseling Jerry (the coach) acts as a caddy for the golf game of your life. Making suggestions and waiting to see how those suggestions play out, teammates working together. There is no magic pill that will make health happen without significant change. Only through willingness to change ones life, then practice and self love does significant change happen.
