I just want everyone to know that I hope you stay safe and healthly as we are all dealing with the coronavirus pandemic and its harmful effects on our health.

It is nearly the end of the first semester of the 2018-19 school year. Time passes quickly. This is the time of the year that you, as a parent, shouid be monitoring your child's educational progress and his or her IEP goals and objectives, and making any mid-course corrections to amend the IEP, as necessary. Do not wait until the end of the school year for the annual IEP meeting to make amendments to your child's IEP. You can request an IEP meeting at any time.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and safe and peaceful holiday season.

It is the beginning of the school year. Read my new posts on my webpage to see what is happening in the special education world.

I know it the summer, but school will be starting soon. Check out my webiste for the lastest news on special education and blogs. I look forward to hearing from you with questions, thoughts and comments on your experiences with school systems and securing a free appropriate public education for your children with disabilities.

Please review my blogs each month and you will find many useful tips for IEP meetings, mediation, due process, and other special education advocacy strategies for families of children with disabilities.😌😌

I would encourage parents and advocates to read posts on or on special education issues of concern. Recenty, I have posted blogs on retention and how to address challenging behaviors of students with disabilities.
