Well, 2020 was weird, but we survived. Twenty new baby Rad Techs will be starting their journey in clinic after the break, and we’re preparing another whole class for graduation. Although their GTC experience has been one for the books, they have been troopers and handled all the changes in stride.
Now on to holiday break!!

There’s a first time for everything 😂 Today a group of junior students brought in dry ice to emphasize the concept of “radiation fog” in their science presentation about Compton interactions. Make sure you join the Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists by October 14 to attend the October meeting.
We have 4 credits pending approval by ASRT that will also be submitted to ARRT for CQR approval for this meeting.
We have 3 meetings a year, your membership dues cover all 3. You could potentially get 12 CEUs if you attend all 3 meetings.

Radiologic technology pioneer Marie Curie and her daughter Irene volunteered during WWI using mobile radiology units to perform x-ray procedures on wounded soldiers and civilians. Dear Class of 2020:
We are so proud of you, even from a distance. You’ve overcome many struggles, both individually and collectively. You’ve loved and supported each other through it all. Today you will take you second-to-last tests (before your Registry) and I’ve never been more confident in a group of students to go forward and shine.
We hope you will be a light in your new jobs, new programs or new cities. Remember what it was like to learn these things for the first time, be patient and offer kind assistance to new students who come after you. Go forth and represent GTC they best way we know you can.
