Starting my day at the SPIN Network Su***de Symposium. 💜

Continuing to learn so I can better recognize when families need more support, have hard conversations, and connect them with the right resources.

Because caring for families means continuing to educate myself, too.

I grew up with very involved, loving grandparents. I was at their house almost everyday, making many of the memories that shaped who I am.

I watched how my grandparents welcomed friends into their home, always had room at the dinner table for anyone who was hungry, and showed up for anyone who needed them.

Raising my girls alongside the woman who helped raise me. They get her stories, her traditions, her perspective, and the kind of wisdom that only comes from a lifetime of loving and caring for a family.

Generational wisdom is such a gift. My grandma taught me so much about caring for people simply by letting me watch the way she cared for others. Now my daughters get to watch her too.

Happy Grandparents Day to the people who help raise us, shape us, and continue pouring into the generations that come after them. 💜

Feeding a baby comes with a LOT of questions. And when something isn’t working, it’s easy to find yourself Googling, asking around, buying another product, or trying one more thing hoping it finally helps.

That’s why I created The Breast Nurse.

As a Registered Nurse & Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, I look at the whole picture, figure out what is contributing to the problem, and help you make a plan that fits your baby, your body, & your goals.

Breast, bottle, pumping, formula, solids, or somewhere in between. You don’t have to figure it out alone. 🤍

It’s been one week since The Community Baby Shower, and holy cow- I am so grateful for the community we have in the LC Valley.

From all of the groups and providers that showed up as resources for our local families,
To the families who showed up to learn and spend time.
Thank you for showing up for each other!

Here’s to a successful first Community Baby Shower, & the next one being even better!

A special thank you to:
Sky Faul for executing all of the design elements, and helping me organize this crazy idea in less than two weeks. 😂

When you tell your friend, who does your nails “do whatever you want”, but she supports your small business and World Breastfeeding Week.

… you get breasts on your nails. 💅😂🥰

This week feels especially meaningful.

Five years ago this Wednesday, I received my radioactive iodine treatment for thyroid cancer. At the time, my girls were only 4 and almost 2 years old. After two surgeries, I had to spend time isolated from Kyle and the girls while the treatment did its job. It was hard, but we were never alone. Our family, friends, and coworkers stepped in to care for us, love on our girls, and carry us through one of the most difficult seasons of our lives.

The Lili Foundation didn’t exist then.

But it does now.

Without knowing what this Wednesday represents for me, Jen and Joel assigned me to provide snacks for Kids Club that day. It couldn’t have been more fitting.

Now, five years later, I get to be one of the people who shows up for families walking a road that feels all too familiar. Not because I know exactly what they’re going through, but because I remember what it meant when others showed up for us.

I’m alive. I’m well. And I don’t take that for granted.

What a beautiful way to mark five years since my treatment by paying forward the kindness that carried my own family. 🩵
