Quick question: do you know the difference between soluble and insoluble fiber? 🤔
Let's break it down. 👇🏻
➡️ Soluble fiber dissolves in water and forms a gel-like substance in your gut. It's the type that helps bind to cholesterol so your body can get rid of it.
➡️ Insoluble fiber doesn't dissolve. It adds bulk and helps keep things moving (aka it's a big help when it comes to staying regular 💩).
Most plant foods actually contain a mix of both — the ones above are just higher in one type.
And your body benefits from both!
So the simplest move? Focus on getting enough fiber overall. 🙌🏻
This matters even more as we move through menopause.
Fiber feeds our gut microorganisms, which help regulate things like hormone production, inflammation, and skeletal muscle metabolism and bone health.
