One thing about owning a small business is that word of mouth means EVERYTHING!

If you've ever trusted me with your skin, whether it was for a facial, chemical peel, Brazilian wax, or any other service at Ur Skin Therapist, I have a small favor to ask.

Would you take a moment to leave my business a Google review?

Your reviews do more than make my day. They help others in Central Arkansas find a trusted esthetician who genuinely cares about their skin and the results they're working toward.

Whether you've been coming to me for years or you've recently visited my suite, I would love for you to share your experience.

Leave your Google review here:

Thank you for continuing to support me, trust my expertise, and allow me to do what I love. Every appointment, referral, and review means more than you know!

Happy National Esthetician Day!

Chemical peel season is here, but not every peel is right for every skin type!

When treating hyperpigmentation, especially in skin of color, the goal should never be to see how much skin we can make peel. It’s about choosing the right treatment to achieve results without unnecessary irritation.

Healthy skin is the goal. Not aggressive peeling!

Not sure which chemical peel is right for you? I’m offering FREE chemical peel consultations throughout October at Ur Skin Therapist in Little Rock, AR.

Let’s create a treatment plan that makes sense for YOUR skin!

Estheticians, let’s talk about dermaplaning because it’s so much more than removing peach fuzz!

One thing I always tell people is that our skin changes as we get older, and the treatments we needed in our 20s may not be the same treatments we need in our 40s and 50s.

As we age, cellular turnover naturally slows down. That means dead skin cells can accumulate on the surface, contributing to dullness, uneven texture, and skin that just doesn’t look as vibrant as it once did.

And let’s not forget those hormonal changes that can make facial hair more noticeable!

This is where dermaplaning comes in.

Dermaplaning is a form of physical exfoliation that removes superficial dead skin cells and vellus hair, helping to:

* Improve the appearance of dull, uneven skin texture
* Create a smoother surface for makeup application
* Remove peach fuzz that may become more noticeable with age
* Reduce surface buildup so skincare products can make more direct contact with the skin
* Give the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance

Now, here’s what I want my fellow estheticians to understand.

Just because a client has mature skin doesn’t mean dermaplaning isn’t an option. But you MUST assess the skin first!

We’re looking at barrier health, sensitivity, hydration, medications, and the overall condition of the skin. Not every client is a candidate, and that’s why a thorough consultation matters.

And please remember, removing dead skin cells doesn’t mean we need to over-exfoliate the skin!

The goal isn’t to make our clients look 25 again. The goal is to help them have healthy skin at EVERY age.

That’s the difference between just performing a service and actually understanding the skin you’re treating.

At Ur Skin Therapist, we’re not just chasing the glow. We’re focusing on the health of the skin behind it.

Advanced skincare does not mean doing the most.

Let’s talk about the Bio + Photon modality on my SureBeauty hydrodermabrasion machine.

This modality is a skin support step that uses gentle bio-current style technology with photon/light support to help the skin look more refreshed, balanced, and awake during a professional facial.

It may be used to support dullness, tired-looking skin, mild firmness concerns, dehydration, and overall skin rejuvenation.

But let’s be clear: this is not the same thing as a full microcurrent treatment. Microcurrent is more focused on facial toning, lifting support, and muscle re-education over time. Bio + Photon is more of a skin support modality inside the facial.

Clients, this is why customized treatments matter.

Estheticians, every handpiece does not belong on every client. Skin analysis, contraindications, and treatment goals come first.

Estheticians… why did anybody tell us THIS?

One thing I wish I would have understood earlier in my career is just how much opportunity exists outside of the treatment room.

Premiere San Antonio officially wrapped up my last trade show of 2026, and I wanted to give y’all a little look at what a beauty trade show actually looks like because YES, estheticians absolutely belong at these events too.

There are skincare brands, new products, advanced devices, education classes, live demonstrations, networking opportunities and so many chances to connect with people in the industry face-to-face.

This year, trade shows have allowed me to go from simply attending and learning to actually standing on these stages teaching and sharing what I know with other beauty professionals. That alone has reminded me how important it is to get in the room.

If you’re an esthetician and you’ve never attended a beauty trade show, make 2027 the year you change that.

San Antonio, thank you for a great ending to my 2026 trade show season. Now it’s time to take everything I’ve learned this year and get ready for what’s next.

Would y’all like me to put together a list of beauty trade shows estheticians should attend in 2027?

Okay God… I see You. 🥹🤎

There are moments in your career that remind you why you never stop learning, and this is one of them.

I am incredibly honored to officially be NCEA Certified!

The National Coalition of Estheticians Association (NCEA) certification is the highest voluntary credential available for estheticians in the United States. It represents a commitment to advanced education, professionalism, safety, and providing the highest standard of care for every client who trusts me with their skin.

For me, this isn’t about collecting titles. It’s about making sure that every client who walks through my doors knows they’re receiving care from someone who is committed to growing, learning, and staying at the forefront of this industry.

If you’ve been following my journey this year, you know one thing I’ve been saying over and over is, “Okay God, I see You.” And today, I’m saying it again.

Every opportunity, every closed door, every lesson, every late night, every sacrifice, He has been faithful through it all. This certification is another reminder that obedience, consistency, and trusting His timing will always be worth it.

Thank you to every client, student, colleague, family member, and friend who has supported me along the way. I don’t take your trust lightly, and I promise to keep learning, growing, and showing up as the best esthetician and educator I can be.

Here’s to raising the standard, serving with excellence, and continuing to help you achieve healthy, confident skin.

July owed me absolutely nothing. 🤍

This past month gave me something I didn’t realize I needed so badly… the chance to truly rest, reflect, and reset.

As beauty professionals, we’re constantly pouring into everyone else. We show up for our clients, our businesses, our families, and somewhere along the way, we forget to show up for ourselves.

July reminded me that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish, it’s stewardship. Rest isn’t a reward for burnout; it’s part of the journey.

I’m walking into August refreshed, grateful, and ready for everything God has in store. Here’s your reminder to make time for yourself too. You deserve it. ✨

Why doesn’t he love me 😭

We had the good cleanser too and he chose to use body wash!

How dare he 😡

The glow gets all the attention, but the recovery is just as important. ❄️

The cold hammer on my SureBeauty hydrodermabrasion machine isn’t just the relaxing part of the facial, it has a purpose.

After exfoliation or other stimulating steps, this cooling modality helps calm, soothe, and refresh the skin, making the treatment more comfortable while supporting the skin barrier.

For my clients, this is usually the moment you completely melt into the treatment.

For my estheticians, remember this: every modality should have intention. Don’t use a tool just because it’s on the machine. Use it because it’s what the skin needs.

Advanced skincare isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing what’s right for the skin in front of you.
