MidSouth Premier Ophthalmics was founded in 1976 by a former Quality Optics employee as a rigid lens manufacturer. In 1979, MidSouth began its expansion into soft lenses with American Optical as one of their first distributors. As the market started to evolve into more contact lens sales, MidSouth expanded their distribution business into soft lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses, solutions and phar

maceuticals. MidSouth primary focus was to support the independent ECP by offering competitive pricing on products and services. Between 1999-2000, MidSouth merged with Premier Contact Lens to form a new company known today as MidSouth Premier Ophthalmics. Since then, MidSouth has expanded their eye glasses business by acquiring two additional contact lens labs, Metro Optics of Arkansas and IVM Corporation in Illinois. Currently, MidSouth has locations in Memphis, TN, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA, New Orleans, LA, and Layfayette, LA.
