This information is from the State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) which is an amazing organization for our families. Feel free to share with those who have developmental disabilities or their families who were impacted by the fires in January.

As the Altadena and Palisades communities continue to recover from the devastating wildfires, SCDD wants to hear from you about the challenges you’re facing. Whether it’s a systemic need—such as difficulties accessing assistance from city, county, state or federal agencies—or a physical need—like food, water, toiletries, hygiene products, housing, or other essential resources—we want to ensure that agencies are aware of what’s still needed to support your recovery.

Your input is critical in helping us advocate for better services and solutions. We will share this information with state agencies to make sure your community gets the support it needs.

This is a gut punch in so many ways. There are 17 states (1/3 of our states) that are suing the federal government so they don't have to provide section 504 protections.

Hi! For those with teenagers with disabilities are you aware of COPAA's Student Rights Initiative? This is conference your teenager can attend that happens the same time as the COPAA Conference in March in Irvine. This is a fantastic program and it will be canceled if they don't get enough enrollees! One of my own children did it and learned so much.

Many Regional Centers will fund this in both traditional and SDP too!
