How does a place become an invitation ✨and an invitation become someone else’s experience?
For me, destination storytelling begins with experiencing a place: walking its streets, meeting its people, tasting its food, and noticing the details that give it character.
Then comes the creative work: choosing photographs, shaping stories, and bringing them together to help someone imagine their own journey.
During my time as Director of New Projects & Marketing at the Puerto Vallarta Convention & Visitors Bureau, I led editorial and creative development supporting destination marketing.
These vacation and convention guides reflect that chapter—introducing Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to travelers, groups, and meeting planners. Also included here is the Punta Mita Ayurveda & Yoga Retreat with Mas Vidal Mas Vidal (Maheshananda) another expression of the connection between place, well-being, and experience.
From experiencing a destination, to creating an invitation, to welcoming someone into an experience of their own. That connection continues to shape my work in hospitality, creative direction, and guest experience design.
💙 The cover photographs are by Eduardo Lugo Photography Eduardo Lugo. whose eye for Puerto Vallarta helped bring these invitations to life. His work also captures the beauty and character of other beautiful Mexican destinations.
He’s also Executive Director of PVR Wildlife Connection, where you can encounter incredible animals in the wild with respect for their natural environment. Explore his photography, learn about his wildlife experiences, and give him a follow—you may find inspiration for your next journey.
