Recently a few of our residents spent the day at Middle Valley Ranch in Moorpark—picking lemons, riding a tractor, and visiting the sweetest goats 🐐🍋. But the most meaningful part of the day was meeting Yonatan, a wounded Israeli soldier.

Sarah spoke beautifully, thanking Yonatan for all he’d done for Am Yisrael. Avremel wrapped him in a big hug and welcomed him into the ETTA family. And Shaina shared powerful, moving words about standing with Israel through it all.

Yonatan told us that despite everything he’s been through, he feels hopeful about Israel’s future—because of the love and support he receives from fellow Jews, even complete strangers. It was an amazing experience!

☀️Sunshine, smiles, and a little slice of LA history!

Our Day Program participants recently spent a beautiful spring day exploring the historic and colorful Olvera Street — one of the oldest and most vibrant parts of Los Angeles. Located in the heart of downtown and part of El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument, Olvera Street offered the perfect backdrop for a day filled with culture, connection, and fun!

Last week, our Group Home residents participated in a meaningful Jewish Life class to learn about the holiday of Shavuot—a time to reflect on the receiving of the Torah at Mount Sinai. Residents explored the holiday's themes of beauty and nature through painting vibrant floral artwork and enjoying a round of flower bingo! 🌼🎨

We were also lucky to have some special visitors join us for the celebration: 🐾 Luna, our furry friend, joined Group Home 4 for a joyful neighborhood walk, and Aviv, a dedicated volunteer, helped lead fun and engaging activities at Group Home 1.

We’re so proud of the creativity, connection, and spirit our residents brought to these celebrations.

During a recent Jewish Life class, our Group Home and Day Program participants went on a fun seasonal adventure! They learned the Hebrew names for all four seasons and had some great conversations about the Jewish holidays that go with each one. The Four Seasons Bingo game was a total hit, filled with laughs and friendly competition. And to top it all off, everyone got creative with bright and beautiful butterfly art to celebrate the joys of spring!

🤠 YEE-HAW! CONNECTIONS Western Day Was a Hit! 🤠

Our ETTA Day Program crew rustled up some recyclables and hit the jackpot! With the money we earned, we decided to treat ourselves to something fun as a group… and that’s how Western Day was born!

We donned our cowboyrific costumes, sipped on themed drinks, munched on Western-style snacks, and even learned how to line dance!

A rootin’-tootin’ THANK YOU to for teaching us how to boot scootin’ boogie all around HQ! 🤩

Our amazing and thoughtful staff have gone the extra mile to share their best insider tips and ideas, making sure your outings are not just fun, but truly memorable for everyone.

🎟️ Plan Ahead & Stay Organized: Research the park’s accessibility services, book tickets in advance, and use a park map or app to plan your day and minimize wait times.

📋 Use Disability Services: Take advantage of guest assistance services or disability passes for priority access.

🎢 Understand Ride Restrictions: Review ride requirements and accessibility guidelines before participating in attractions.

🎧 Prepare for Sensory Needs: Bring noise-canceling headphones, pack familiar comfort items to reduce anxiety, and identify quiet areas for breaks.

💦 Pace Yourself & Stay Hydrated: Carry water and snacks, take regular breaks, and maintain a relaxed pace to avoid exhaustion and fully enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.

🙋‍♂️ Bring Support Person: Consider bringing a caregiver or companion to help with logistics and provide support.
