A group of doctors have opened a new recuperative care unit and urgent care clinic located in the South Central community. It's called Vernon Recuperative Care Unit with access to a 24 hours Urgent Care Clinic which is Black-owned in Los Angeles County. Medical Director Dr. Cadrin Gill, M.D. and Clinic/Recuperative Care Administrator Dr. Robert L Jamison, Ph.D., and Rodeny Brown, Executive Consultant are the Principals and owners.

The recuperative care unit has 8 beds that gives their clients access to 24 hours medical care by board certified nurses such as RN's, LVN's and MA's with Medical Doctors on call. The urgent care clinic has multiple exam and procedure rooms for patients, including a Radiology Department equiped with Xray, MRI, and Ultrasound and once a patient is admitted, they are typically treated in less than an hour.

Walk-in treatment is available for various conditions including: scrapes, boils, bites, broken or fractured bones, minor burns, colds, coughs, pink eye, contusions, bruises, lacerations, joint dislocations, ear infections, and more.

“We are happy to open an urgent care in South Central LA because the community needs it. I see so many California professionals who either delay or go without care because of time constraints. No one has 10 hours to wait in the emergency department for a minor illness or the flexibility to wait 3 weeks because their primary care doctor is booked solid.
