If you are interested in the Women's Self Defense Classes, sponsored by Harriman Police Department:

For Those of you attending the fi****ms class. Please remember to bring
YOUR firearm of YOUR choosing. Also bring about 100 rounds if possible.
If you do not have a firearm please respond to this email as soon as
possible so we can have an idea of how many fi****ms we will need. We do
not care what caliber firearm you have so long as it is in working
order and you have some ammunition.

Class will start at 4:30 pm

221 White Pine Road Harriman, TN 37748

From Midtown: go on 70 west towards Rockwood and when you pass CO-OP
(on your right) then you will see the pool place on the left. Turn there
and go up the hill until you see the recycling center and bear right and
you will see the gate on the left. follow that road to the end and there
is the range

From Rockwood: Go East on 70 towards Midtown/40 go until you see the
Roane County Park on your right and go to the next right (Not caney
creek at the church) which will be white pine road. You will see a pool
store on your right. Go up the hill until you see the recycling center
and bear right and you will see the gate on the left. follow that road
to the end and there is the range

Please forward this to any of the ladies that wanted to take the class
but couldn't make the first class.

Tonight is the 26th and FINAL scheduled walk for 2021! We will continue to schedule alternative indoor activities until the Spring.

Thank you for being part of this great group of friends! Our Smoky Mountains hike will be announced soon. The plan is for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon hike to enjoy the beauty of the Fall scenery! More information soon...

You must pre-register for this series. See flyer below for more information.

We have 2 more weeks before our winter break. I will keep you posted on other activities and additional walks throughout the winter months.

Jen McMahon is an Ohio native, but a Knoxvillian at heart. She has called Knoxville home for over 6 years, and has fallen in love with all East Tennessee has to offer. Jen has her degree in Interdisciplinary Anthropology,
French, and a Minor in Linguistics from the University of Akron. Using her degree and passion for helping others, Jen became the CEO, and Co-Founder, of Century Harvest Farms Foundation in late 2017. She established CHFF with her Co-Founder, Chris Burger, after serving as a case manager and data coordinator for the Tennessee Valley Continuum of Care. During her time as CEO, CHFF has become an alternative to incarceration for individuals in the 9th Judicial District, has provided 8,763 hours of Workforce Development
Training for 96 individuals enrolled in their From the Ground Up Program, has provided over 37,000 meals donated to makers and families in need, has provided over $22,000 in housing assistance during the pandemic, donated over 5,867 lbs of fresh produce to local nonprofits, has helped 91% of their folks maintain housing and the same living-wage position for 1-year post-graduation, and has welcomed over 500 volunteers from all over East Tennessee on the farm. This year, she will be working with other community
organizations to create a 48 unit, supportive transitional housing facility in Lenoir City for folks exiting incarceration.

Jen is married to Cody McMahon, Maintenance and Mechanical Educator at Century Harvest Farms Foundation, and they have a beautiful 4-month-old son. Jen is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and is a member of St.
John’s Lutheran Church. When Jen isn’t spending time on the farm or with her family, she serves as a board member of the Loudon County Health Improvement Council, serves on the Governing Council for the Tennessee Valley Continuum of Care, a graduate of the
University of Tennessee's Consortium for Social Effective Enterprise Program, is an advocate for individuals in the 9th Judicial District, will be working this summer alongside Black Leaders in our community to celebrate Juneteenth as the Food Vendor Coordinator,
and supporting Black-led non-profits.

Park will be on right about 1 mile in. Turn on Lakeshore Drive, go to the 2nd parking area. We will park in the parking lot where restrooms are and boat access parking is located.

We will start at 5:30 PM

Mostly open air on paved ground - will be hot - wear sunscreen if you burn and bug spray if the mosquitos love you!

She loves to cook and she baked for a tea room for 10+ years and loves to try new recipes! The Good Samaritan Center of Loudon County serves Loudon Co residents in crisis situations and can assist clients with food, utility, bills, rent, and dental procedures.

Melissa joined LCHIC last year and is with Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding. She joined LCHIC to help connect STAR to our community. STAR has been committed to serving people with physical, cognitive, and emotional needs for over 30 years. Melissa is a lifelong paddler and completed a "100 miles in 100 days" kayaking challenge last year!

STAR in Lenoir City will be holding an 8-week equine assisted learning class for teens 13-17 who need help coping with the disruption and isolation of COVID. This is NOT a therapy group, but will allow for safe, supportive, and fun time working with horses on the ground.
