@UofL Health - UofL Hospital UofL Health - Jewish Hospital nurses give back to the Louisville community through a food drive

The servant’s heart the nursing teams exhibit every day tells of the compassion and drive to care for our community. Thank you, UofL Hospital and Jewish Hospital nurses, for keeping our community healthy and fed.150 items to other nurses. For local business donations, Jennifer said, “It inspired us to do something in return for the community, especially with. The pandemic exacerbated hunger, and we are happy to help.”
Heather Stewart, executive director of Kentucky Harvest, said they are grateful and very appreciative of the generosity of the UofL Health nurses. Since COVID-19, the number of volunteers and people willing to donate has decreased.

UK Nursing's Dr. Hartley Feld earlier this month received the 2021 UKHC-UKCON Academic-Clinical Engagement Award from UK HealthCare for her standout work as the UK College of Nursing/UKHC liaison for the COVID-19 immunization initiative.

Dr. Feld helped to lead and coordinate the safe training and volunteer efforts of hundreds of students from a range of healthcare disciplines and her efforts helped result in the delivery of thousands of vaccines to members of our community.

Congratulations Dr. Feld on this well-deserved honor!

ASPEN has released a video series on blended food tube feeding and is asking for assistance with wide dissemination to all health care professionals. The goal is to help the medical community be more accepting of this feeding substrate and provide quick ‘how-to’ guidance. The hope is that education programs (nursing, dietetics, physician assistants, MD, DO) will incorporate them into classroom instruction and / or use for in-service education. We would appreciate you sharing with your professional agency/groups and using some or all of the video resources in your professional or teaching capacity. The video links are provided free of charge below. God Bless Nurses! Get your RN2BSN at Thomas More University 100% online & in 18 months.
As a retired R.N. I wonder at the predictions that when the vaccine is ready, health care professionals will be so overwhelmed with expected Holiday surge in Covid patients, they will not be available to vaccinate the public. I wonder, watching the News every morning, why no one has thought of pulling retired nurses, active license or not, who would surely volunteer in droves to vaccinate people – it is not a complicated procedure or one that a recently retired nurse has likely forgotten. I don’t have a voice or platform in which I can present a solution, but I know Nurses Association do and hope they will. I am sending this email to as many associations as I can in that hope. Kindest Regards Penny Weigel, R.N. [email protected]
Hello all, I'm a psychologist that researches job design and motivation in healthcare. For my dissertation, I'm writing about how the design of electronic health records (EHR or EMR) affects provider burnout. I'm collecting data from hospital-based nurses and physicians to test our hypothesized links. You can participate in our study by following this link to a questionnaire on your computer or smartphone. You can even go the extra mile by sharing this link with friends or posting it to a Facebook group where other nurses or physicians will see. Thank you for your time and for supporting this important research.
