My heart is so full after this weekend. 🤍
I had the incredible opportunity to be surrounded by some of the most brilliant, passionate, and inspiring minds in functional medicine at the PLMI conference. I left feeling both humbled and deeply inspired by the people who have dedicated their lives to understanding the human body and helping others heal.
While there, we were challenged to share what exceptional health means to us.
And I’ve been sitting with that question.
Because the more I learn about the incredible complexity of the human body, the more in awe I am of how intentionally we were created.
I believe God has given every single one of us unique gifts, a purpose, and a life we’re meant to live.
And to me, health is about having the capacity to fully live that life.
Not perfect labs. Not a perfect body. Not a life free from hardship.
But a body that’s nourished. A nervous system that knows how to find rest. A mind that has clarity. And the resilience to weather life’s inevitable storms.
It’s about honoring the foundations that allow our bodies to do what they were beautifully designed to do.
Because life will be hard sometimes. We will face challenges, loss, stress, and seasons that stretch us.
But my hope is that we don’t spend our lives simply surviving those seasons.
I want us to have the strength to walk through them, the energy to love and serve others, and the freedom to pursue the things God has placed on our hearts.
We weren’t created just to survive. We were created to live with purpose.
And if taking care of our health allows us to show up a little more fully for the people we love and the calling we’ve been given, isn’t that what this is all about?
This weekend reminded me just how grateful I am to do this work. And how much more there is to learn. 🌿
To me, that’s exceptional health.
Not perfection. Purpose. 🤍
