Myth: ADHD meds are addictive.
Truth: Studies show that ADHD medications are associated with a lower risk of substance abuse related events. The therapeutic use of stimulant medications for ADHD prevents addiction.

October is National ADHD Awareness Month.

Females with ADHD are often times misdiagnosed because their symptoms can look different than males. In males we see more impulsivity by way of physical hyperactivity, while impulsivity symptoms in females may be more internalized and look like poor time management, distracted easily or unable to manage tasks.

📄 **Flu consent forms are being sent home with students today.** Please check your child’s folder and return the completed, signed form **ASAP**.

⚠️ **Important:** All information and required signatures must be completed on the consent form. If anything is missing, the flu vaccine cannot be given.

Poor oral health can affect a child’s development and performance at school:
● Early tooth loss from cavities can cause speech defects.
● The pain from tooth decay causes trouble at school too! Inattention and absences make it hard for students to keep up.
