Good morning my friends,

Community means helping people who need our help. In John 9, Jesus taught that sometimes the bad things in this world happen so that we can do His good work. Furthermore, we know the value of serving those in need, because in Matthew 25, Jesus tells us “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’”

Dear Members,
I would like to thank all of you for the opportunity to serve as the owner of the club for the past few years. As of 9/1/2020 the club has been sold to Byron Gatewood. He is the perfect person to own the club and will do a fantastic job. I hope all of you will continue to support him and the club.

When I took the club over 5 years ago if was on the verge of closing. But, because of the great staff and the great members we where able to not only keep it open, but make over $100,000 in upgrades and renovations over the past 3 years.

I have been in this industry for over 35 years, the last 5 years have been a blessing. I have come to know a lot of you very well and our great staff has done exceptional work to make the club a success.

I have tried my best to create a club that offers programs, classes, services and equipment which would allow the members to get great results. The club now offers programs and services that are only available at Fitness 1440 Marietta.

We set out to create something special and unique, I believe we have. The #1 goal was always to offer the best service to our members.

Dear Members,
As part of our reopening plan we are opening our Kids Club area as of Monday June 1st. We will be offering Kids Club during morning hours only. Kids Club will be open from 8:30am to 11:30am Monday thru Thursday and Saturday.
The plan is to keep it open as long as folks are using it. If, by the end of June, we don’t have members using the Kids Club area we may consider shutting it down until September.
We are asking that you adhere to some guidelines in order to use the Kids Club:
1. We will be checking their temperature by using an ear thermometer. If they have a high fever, we will not allow them to stay.
2. It will be impossible for us to have kids’ social distance from one another, so please take this into consideration.
3. We will be cleaning everything daily and we will be checking our staffs temperature before each shift.
4. Please do not bring any outside toys or items from your home including food items
5. We will provide hand sanitizer for you and your children to use upon entering and leaving
6. We are not requiring anyone to wear masks. However, if you choose to have your child wear a mask we will do our best to make sure it is properly warn.
7. Please adhere to the 90-minute time limit.

I wanted to take a moment and acknowledge someone who is extremely important to me….Patty Ferrer my Operations Manager. She is the absolute best and makes my life sooo much easier. I would not have been able to turn the Marietta club around if it was not for her. She has been at the club for 14 years, knows most of the members and believed in my vision from Day 1. I am so blessed to have her working with me and I let her know how much I appreciate her as much as I can. She stepped into the club today (1st back open) and handled everything that need to get handled. We have a great supporting staff, but Patty is the one that makes this club successful. Thank You So Much Patty….you are the best I could ever ask for.

Marietta Re-Opening - Fitness:1440

Dear Members,
It is with great appreciation that we announce that as of Friday 4/24 we will be open for workouts as of 8am. We are including several links below which will cover items such as workout guidelines, billing questions and club hours.

It has come to my attention through several other folks in the industry that a great many clubs, gyms and fitness centers won’t be able to survive and stay open due to this pandemic. In fact, Gold’s Gym is closing 30 clubs in 4 states due to this situation.

We have had to make several business decisions in order to preserve the club and remain open. We ask that all our member understand that the decisions that have been made are with 2 goals in mind:
1. Keep the club open and continue to employ the 50+ folks we have on staff.
2. Provide a safe environment for members so we can remain open.

I don’t expect for most members to understand the economics of running a health club. However, it cost me about $43,000 per month to keep the doors open and the operation running.

I have applied for every loan, grant, and program I can to get the resources to help operate the club. However, as many of you know, my bank, Wells Fargo, really botched the PPP grants for small business and the SBA has not provided any assistance. Therefore, we are left to do this on our own.

I have developed a plan, that with your help and with assistance from our great staff, ensure the club gets open and stays open for the long term.

Again, I appreciate all of you and your patience and understanding and we are so happy to be able to open and provide you your club again. We suggest that you visit the club and make sure you know how to operate the key less entry and that your card will work.

CLUB UPDATE (PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY)
Dear Members,
Due to the state ordered shelter-in-place we will be closing the club temporarily as of Friday 4/3/20 with the goal of reopening on or around April 13th, once the order is lifted. We have remained open with limited hours up till now, but we must comply with this order.

We will cease all membership and personal training billing as of Sunday 4/5/2020 until such time as we reopen the club.
We will be providing credit in the form of non-billing to members who has been billed between 4/1/2020 and 4/5/2020 in May. So, if you paid for your membership dues between 4/1 and 4/5, you will not be billed in May. We will not restart billing for membership dues until we are able to open again.

We are looking into how we might be able to provide additional membership time for those billed during the months of March and April as well as those members who previously paid in full. More details will be provided in the coming weeks.
Any members who have purchased short term membership after March 16th, 2020 will also be provided additional time once the club reopens.

As of Friday, 4/3, we will NOT have any staff in the club, however if you have questions you may email us at [email protected] and we will respond within 48 hours.

We appreciate your understanding and pray for all you and your family while we navigate through this difficult period.

Dear Members,

As of 12pm today (March 25th, 2020), Cobb County has issued a shelter in place order and has required some businesses to adhere to specific operating hours. We are, and will continue, to do everything we can to keep the club open until we can no longer keep it open.

In order to comply with the order, we will have to make adjustments in our operating hours. We regrettably will not be able to offer a 24 hour facility until the order is lifted.

However, we will be offering staffed hours that comply with the Cobb County order. The following will be the new club operating hours until the order is lifted:
Monday-Friday 6am-8pm
Saturday 9am-2pm
Sunday – Closed

These are the only hours that will be available for members to use the club.
