Are Nitrates and Nitrites in Foods Harmful?

I like to slow cook my bacon in the oven on 300 for an hour it turns out perfect, but I've never really liked crispy bacon. When I was growing up I would tell my mom to just cook mine a little.

Nitrates and nitrites are often believed to be harmful, but the research isn't clear and these compounds are found in large amounts in vegetables.

I use this stuff to make kale chips, crackers, and salad dressings it's pretty good stuff really.

Nutritional Yeast is an inactive yeast, meaning it's gluten free and has tremendous health benefits.

Sprinkle on salads, popcorn, vegetables and many other things. The nutty, cheesy flavor is a great addition to many dishes.
