GAHFM Newsletter

WELCOME FROM THE CHAIRMAN:

I want to thank the GAHFM Board and all our society membership for allowing me to serve as chairman. I would also like to congratulate Tom Doenitz on his role as chairman-elect and Jake Butts as secretary. Also, congratulations to Mark Singletary for his re-election as ASHE Region IV representative.

COVID chaos!
With all the additional concerns, stress, and added responsibilities that we have all been experiencing this year, I want you to know how extraordinary our Board members are. They have worked extremely hard on this year’s conference. Unfortunately, we had to reschedule and ultimately cancel it. Determined to provide our members with the best resources available to help keep up with the changing times in our very demanding profession, the Board has put together an outstanding virtual learning program. We are very grateful for all who have attended and hopeful that everyone can take advantage of the remaining presentations. This would not be possible without our outstanding and dedicated sponsors. Many sponsors have gone above and beyond to support our society. Their support has made it possible for us to provide several scholarships for next year’s conference in addition to waiving the 2021 GHA society dues for current members. Please thank your Board members, GHA representatives, and sponsors for their contribution to our society.

Membership
Please help keep our society operating and growing by reaching out to your counterparts and encouraging them to check us out. If you would like to serve on the Board, please contact us. Remember to take a look at our sponsor list and help support them by considering them the next time you have a need. If you have a contractor or service provider who does an excellent job, let us know if they would like to be a part of our great society.

2021 Membership Benefits
While 2020 has presented many challenges, it also comes with an abundance of opportunities. We're thrilled to announce that all GAHFM members who paid their dues in 2020 will receive free dues in 2021. Additionally, these members will receive complimentary registration and lodging at the 2021 GAHFM Annual Conference! This is all possible due to the generous support of our sponsors, which are listed below. Please take a moment to thank them.

Be safe and continue doing the great work that you do for our industry.

Sincerely,
Jim Walker, CHFM

Our sister Society just post this an hour ago ...our thoughts and prayers are with Wendell's wife Mattie.

Good morning GASHE Members. We wanted to let you know that on Monday evening Charter Member Wendell White suffered a heart attack. His wonderful wife Mattie has been by his side the entire time. Currently they are at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon in ICU room 3. Yesterday they performed an angiogram providing Wendell with 2 additonal stents and cleaning out another one that was clogged. As we get ready to spend Thanksgiving with our families please take time out to pray for Wendell, Mattie and their family. We will provide more updates as they become available.
