She has 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren! "Nana" has shown all of us much love and nurturing our entire lives and shared all her love and time with us. We will all be forever grateful.
She was and is the best mother and grandmother any kid could have, and she is loved dearly by our family!

We feel the same way about you here at Legacy Ridge of Marietta Mrs. Ann! You’re always so kind and helpful to those around you. We are truly grateful to have you here with us.

Do We Need More Senior Housing for Baby Boomers? | Atlas Senior Living

The need for senior housing is expected to double by 2050. The Baby Boomer Generation, one of the biggest populations in US history, is taking over the senior living market and may be considering life at one of the nearly 30,000 senior living communities across the country.

Currently, over 800,000 older adults choose to live in some sort of senior housing community and another 1.4 million require skilled nursing facilities. With so many options and limited space, it’s important to understand what types of senior housing are available to receive the services you may need as you age.

Where do older adults tend to live? The need for senior housing is expected to double by 2050. Meet our June Resident of the Month!!

Sidney was born in 1933 in Fort Payne Alabama, where he grew up with his parents, Ernest and Lucille, and one brother, Jim. He graduated from Fort Payne High School, then attended Auburn University, where he met the love of his life, Faye, on a blind date. In 1954-55, Sid graduated from Pharmacy School at Auburn, and he and Faye were married in her hometown of Gadsden, Alabama.
After a brief stint with the Army in San Antonio, Texas, Sid and Faye made their way back to Fort Payne where Sid began his career as a pharmacist and Faye as a schoolteacher. Their life changed forever with the birth of two daughters: Cindy and Mary. For the next 20 years, Sid and Faye were both good parents and good citizens, serving in leadership roles in the Jaycees, Lions Club and other civic organizations. After working in one of the local pharmacies for a few years, Sid took the big step of purchasing his own pharmacy in the early 1970s, and for the next 30+ years, he was the beloved “Dr. Sid” to the townspeople who came to rely on this folksy medical advice at Fort Payne Drug Company.

Thank you Sidney for all the joy and laughter you bring to our community!
