Let me tell you, I used to hit intense morning workouts, then sit at my desk all day. But something felt off—I was still sluggish and stressed as the day wore on.
So, I switched it up.
Now, I incorporate consistent movement throughout the day and save my tougher workouts for noon. The result? My energy levels have skyrocketed! 😲

Regular movement helps manage stress, balance hormones, and improve mood. Plus, it supports bone health—super important as we age.
And when you move less, your body doesn’t release enough endorphins, which can keep stress hormones like cortisol elevated. This can make managing weight, sleep, and overall well-being even tougher.

It’s amazing to me how quickly the body can become deconditioned but I also welcome the new phase of rebuilding. 💪🏾

Perimenopause isn’t that bad, it’s a time often viewed with apprehension but it’s actually a period brimming with potential.
As you journey through these transformative years, your body experiences a symphony of hormonal changes, each playing a crucial role in your overall well-being. In perimenopause, we still ovulate and there are two key hormones we can still enjoy the benefits of.
Thats estrogen and testosterone.
Let’s start with estrogen…
Rising Estrogen can be you ally for vibrancy.
As you approach ovulation, your estrogen levels will start to rise. This Increased estrogen can boost your serotonin levels, leading to a more positive outlook, making you feel happier and emotionally stable.
This hormonal surge also contributes to a healthier skin tone, resulting in a natural, radiant glow.
Your testosterone levels will also subtly rise (yes ladies…we make Testosterone too, just in smaller amounts). This rise in T can be a time of heightened energy and endurance, perfect for embracing new fitness challenges, strength training or HIIT workouts.
This rise in T will also help many women experience an increase in sexual desire, making this an ideal time to reconnect with that special someone.
But wait, it gets better….that boost in Testosterone can also enhance mental clarity, focus and creativity, aiding in personal and professional endeavors.

My first time in Puerto Rico was a blast and I didn’t even get to do everything as I was mostly here on business.
But I’ll def be back next winter and stay longer.
Although I had a great time my grief almost sent me home on day one. I’m learning that the year of firsts is hard because the state of disbelief is wearing off.
The first few weeks and maybe even months after you lose a spouse or anyone you loved you still can’t believe they’re gone.
Sometimes I’d walk into a room I expected to see him in and was stopped in my tracks when he wasn’t there and often I found myself saying out loud “did you really die?” Did you really leave me here alone?”.
Now I find disbelief being replaced with tears and deep sadness for everything he’s missing.
Lately though, I’ve noticed what God is doing:
He’s been sending these faith filled women into my life to let me know I’m not alone.
To show me it is possible to heal from this as I LIVE and enjoy every moment and opportunity.
I feel like I’m being guided as I rediscover who I am now that my children are grown and my husband has been called home.
I felt so empty when he first died. I kept telling people “my children are grown and my husband is dead.” That can be a really dark place. But today, I noticed that has lifted a little.
I still miss him and I’m still saddened by all he’s missing. But I can’t stop living and I refuse to waste any more time that God has granted me on this planet.

Comforting Vegetable Soup Recipe (makes 6 servings):
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 medium carrots, chopped
1 celery stalk, chopped
1 medium turnip, chopped
1 15 oz can kidney beans, drained & rinsed
6 cups low-sodium vegetable broth
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 bay leaves
2 big handfuls of sliced spinach leaves
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
🔥 Heat olive oil, sauté onion, carrot, celery, and turnip until translucent. Add beans, broth, vinegar, and bay leaves. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 15-20 mins. Stir in spinach, cook until soft. Season with black pepper. Bon appétit!
And a special shoutout to TURNIPS – a veggie superhero! Low in carbs and calories but rich in vitamins A, C, and K, folate, and antioxidants, they're a powerhouse for thyroid function and overall health.
