This picture was taken last night while night fishing at 11pm. It was completely dark out and raining but the moon was so bright that it created a spectacular moonbow in the night sky. May never see this again in my lifetime…so cool!

In The Summons of the Soul, Keziah Isaacson explores the intricate journey of existence—the paths we take, the uncertainty of our steps, and the meaning we create along the way. Through poetry inspired by her travels through Japan, Greece, and Italy, as well as the untamed beauty of Idaho's wilderness, she reflects on the delicate balance between searching and surrendering, movement and stillness, presence and absence. At the heart of this collection lies the question: What is the purpose of our journey? Like a map with no starting point, we navigate life without clear directions, trusting the unknown and embracing the unseen. In poems like The Cartography of Absence, Keziah invites readers to consider that the search for nothing is the search for everything—that in the spaces we cannot fill, we uncover the opportunity to create, to grow, and to redefine our purpose. Blending themes of adventure, spiritual wellness, and the profound connection between body and soul, this collection speaks to those who seek meaning in the quiet spaces of life. Whether in the rhythm of a hike, the solitude of a sunrise, or the comfort of a familiar cup of coffee, these poems remind us that not all paths are meant to be found—some are meant to be created.

Dianne Centers was born in Mountain Home on May 30th, 1950 to Jess and Pat Ytuarte. Dianne was one of five children. Growing up, her dad recognized her love for horses and purchased a small farm for her to ride on. Here she got her first pony Poncho and later, her horse Doll. She won Poncho by selling the most Mountain Home News Subscriptions. On June 19th of 1970, she married her high school sweetheart, Lee Centers. Lee and Dianne made their home in Meridian, Idaho. Together they had four beautiful children, Jake, Lynn, Wes, and Lee J.

Dianne was an amazing seamstress, quilter, and painter. She loved instructing and participating in yoga, doll making, long walks in the mountains, cooking, and her vacations to Featherville and Scottsdale Arizona. She also loved spending time with her family. Dianne was the sweetest wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She peacefully passed away on the morning of April 16th, 2023 in the comfort of her own home. There she was cared for by her family and friends. Her faith was always strong in the Lord and evident throughout her life. Join us to celebrate Dianne’s life on April 23rd at Still Water Hollow. The chapel service will begin at 2:00 with a reception to follow.
A poem Keziah wrote for her grandmother….
Her paintings speak the languages of old weathered donkeys.
Voices of feathered women, and bejeweled mermaids.
She tells the tales of the mystical and beyond, through a colored world,
an abstract eye.
To show the magic we possess within.
To show us what is beyond and inside.

Good Morning Oatmeal! 1 cup organic rolled oats
1 cup organic raisins
1 organic apple
2 Tablespoons organic almond butter
2 Tablespoons organic maple syrup
1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
4 Tablespoons organic cold pressed coconut oil

Directions:
Cover the oats with filtered water and let soak in a covered bowl overnight
In the morning strain the water from the soaked oats and give them a second quick rinse and strain
Slice the apple into bite sized pieces
Add all ingredients to soaked oats and gently mix together

Why soaked oats?
As the oats soak overnight their digestibility improves greatly. This has to do with what happens overnight as they soak. Their starches break down which improves digestibility and their natural phytic acid (which all plants contain) is greatly reduced and makes them more easily absorbed by your body. The soaking acts like a long cooking, which you won't get from just heating it on the stove or in a microwave. Most people find that overnight oats are much easier to digest than cooked oats for this reason.
