Simple lymphatic tip: doing an inversion pose, otherwise known as getting your legs up the wall. This allows gravity to go to work by promoting circulation with increasing blood flow and reducing swelling/puffiness. This is great if you notice your legs/ ankles/ feet are looking a little bit fluffy by the end of the day. Getting your legs up is a calming way to allow your body to move into a parasympathetic response to begin unwinding the body and prepare for sleep. This can be additionally helpful if you struggle to calm your mind at night.
If you're new to inversions, begin practicing for 5 minutes. As you become more familiar and comfortable, work up to 20 minutes. Use this time to practice breath work, to pray, to appreciate silence, or pair it with Binaural Beats in alpha frequencies [8-13HZ range]. These particular frequencies can help to increase the body's ability to relax and decrease anxiety.
To get into an inversion or the wall pose, sit as close to an empty wall as possible. Sit on the floor with your feet on the ground and your left side against a flat wall. Slowly lower your back to the floor and put your feet flat against the wall. Gently wiggle your body closer to the wall until your sit bones are against the wall, and your legs are vertically above you with both legs above your hips.
