It's about 106 where I live in Arizona tonight!
What's a girl to do when she's given up soda?!
I've been making one of these every evening in an attempt to cool down.
And the best part is: No chemical sweeteners!
All you need is 1 can of La Croix flavored sparkling water, juice of 1/2 a lime and a few drops of stevia.
Delicious! Still feels like a soda, only much more refreshing! Yum!

We so often forget about the easiest, best medicine of all, our FOOD!
It's so easy to grab a little snack, or stop off at the drive-thru for a meal when time is short.
But all that processed 'franken-food' takes it's toll over time.
The body can heal amazingly well when it's given the right fuel. Fuel that energizes us, rather than gunking-up our cells with processed oils, flour and sugar.
What are your best tips to avoid this trap?

If you're struggling with fibromyalgia, alcohol is not your friend.
You might think it takes the edge off, or helps you sleep, but that couldn't be farther from the truth.
Alcohol makes your liver work harder, makes detoxifying more difficult and makes it nearly impossible to reach that deep, restorative sleep that we all need so badly.

Gluten can be one of the most destructive foods you an eat if you are one of the 20 million American's who are sensitive.
Gluten can cause headaches, muscle and joint pain, brain fog, skin rashes, and digestive issues.
Aren't we dealing with enough of that with fibromyalgia?
Have you tried giving it up to see how you feel?
There are so many gluten-free products on the market now.
But be sure to read labels to make sure gluten isn't lurking in your food.
You may be so surprised at how much better you feel.

One of the most difficult challenges we face with fibromyalgia is learning to pace ourselves. One day you wake up with a little extra energy, and you decide in that moment to 'get caught up'.
You don't really realize how much energy you're expending, so you just keep going.
It feels good to get things done.
But the following day, and perhaps for days later, you pay. You may have more pain and fatigue, and less energy than you've had in a while.
Energy is like a bank account. If you constantly overdraw, you'll pay a penalty.
Pace yourself.

A good night's sleep is one of the most effective ways to begin healing from Fibromyalgia.
Chronic sleep deprivation leads to fatigue, muscle pain and 'fibro-fog'.
Lack of sleep causes an increased production of cortisol, increases the fight-or-flight response, resulting in increased pain in the pressure points.
Create a sleep sanctuary. Keep your room as dark, quiet and cool as possible. Avoid caffeine after noon. Set a bedtime and stick to it. And turn off your blue-light emitting devices, like the one in your hand, at least an hour before bed.

This means that it can irritate the brain and spinal cord, making pain much worse and turning on that fight or flight mechanism that is already in overdrive if you suffer from Fibromyalgia.
Aspartame is found in diet soda, diet enery drinks, diet foods, and anywhere you see those 'little blue packets'.
Start reading labels! You can safely substitute Stevia products, calorie free natural sweeteners.

Think of your energy as a bank account.

Monosodium glutamate, MSG is in so many of the processed foods we eat every day.
MSG is a chemical known as an excitotoxin, which rev up the pain sensation in the brain and spinal cord, and can cause flares for fibro sufferers.
Chips, snack foods, ready-made seasonings, processed meals, frozen food, canned soup are among many foods that can contain MSG.

Check the labels on the foods you're eating and begin to ditch the MSG. You're fibro will thank you for it.

When you live with Fibromyalgia your energy is unpredictable. One day, you'll feel pretty good and get through most of your "to-do" list. Other days, you seem to be too exhausted to get out of your own way.

Learning to pace yourself is a must. Allowing yourself time to rest, nap, and take breaks may be the only way to get through the day.

You are not lazy. You are building your energy for another time.

One of the most important micronutrients for managing Fibromyalgia, and yet most American's are woefully deficient.

Magnesium glycinate and threonate are the forms that are easiest for your body to absorb.
