Thank you! Sometimes finding the right words to express my gratitude are difficult to find. I have been in this industry that I absolutely love for almost 25 years. I have had many ups and downs, and a time when I wasn’t sure if I would be able to do hair again.
I started my career at 30, finally making my way through beauty school. When I graduated I became the 3rd person in my family to become a hairdresser (my grandparents were) I was fortunate to learn with some of the best when I started out. I quickly landed my dream job, only to get fired by my boss leaving a note on my front door (another story for another day😉) my confidence was shaken a bit, but continued on. I had my son, so I took some time off. When I went back, I wasn’t feeling my best and struggled with constant fatigue. Found I had Non Hodgkin Lymphoma. It took me a while to feel like myself again after going through chemo and radiation and I was excited to get back to work. I took a job at a corporate chain salon and was discouraged by the lack of mutual respect and support. I quickly jumped into sharing a suite while I worked 2 other jobs as I focused on building back a clientele. It took me a while, running Groupons, asking for referrals, and working a lot. I spent the next year going into my own suite, then finally transitioning to my first store front. It wasn’t everything I could have imagined, but it was mine. My space to create an environment where every client would feel safe and be offered honest opinions and feel valued, where every stylist had the support of a team backing them up and cheering them on.
Now, in our 7th year we are in a gorgeous new space and have an amazing team of people I adore. We have clients that we love showing up for everyday.
Thank you for supporting me through this this journey, for believing in that girl you found on a Groupon. For trusting your friend who said I was good with curly hair. For not giving up on me even if I made a mistake.

I'm so glad I found Mozzie Fox and Laurie! After years of searching for a great stylist and a salon that I feel comfortable in, I recently found Mozzie Fox through a local referral in my neighborhood.
After being isolated for a year and a half from the pandemic, my hair had grown out past my shoulders and I used another stylist from another salon and she butchered my hair. Literally butchered it with texturizing shears and chopped it all down to almost nothing. I couldn't do a thing with it and it stuck up everywhere. I was devastated.
I was lucky to find Laurie at Mozzie Fox and with her help, even though my hair is still growing in, she's cut and styled it so it looks terrific while it's growing in.
In addition, Laurie is SO sweet and kind I feel as if I've known her for years.
