🚨 **FOOD RECALL ALERT: Check Your Refrigerator!**

More than 1.5 million pounds of hot dogs, bacon, sausages, deli meats, and other ready-to-eat products are being recalled nationwide.

Chelsea, Massachusetts-based Kayem Foods issued the recall after discovering that some products may have been stored at unsafe temperatures.

Thankfully, no illnesses have been confirmed, but it's worth taking a few minutes to check what's in your refrigerator or freezer.

**What should you do?**
βœ… Check your meat products against the USDA recall list.
βœ… Do not eat any affected products.
βœ… Throw them away or return them to the store.

Food safety matters, especially when we're preparing meals for children, older adults, and loved ones.

Please share this with family and friends. Someone may have these products at home without knowing about the recall.

πŸš’ Fire Safety Starts at Home! 🏠πŸ”₯

October is National Fire Prevention Month, a crucial reminder that simple precautions can significantly enhance the safety of our families.
At LifeCare Ambulance, we recognize how swiftly emergencies can arise. The optimal time to prepare is before an incident occurs.

Here are essential actions every household should take:
βœ… Test your smoke alarms monthly.
βœ… Develop a family escape plan and practice it together.
βœ… Ensure fire extinguishers are easily accessible and know how to use them safely.
βœ… Never leave cooking unattended.
βœ… Keep flammable items away from stoves, heaters, and other heat sources.

Additionally, plan for family members who may require extra assistance during an evacuation.
❀️ A few minutes of preparation today could save a life tomorrow.
Let's work together to keep our homes and communities safe across Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire.

πŸ’¬ When was the last time your family practiced a fire escape plan?

❀️ **A frightening moment for a Westford family.**

A 7-month-old baby was airlifted to a Boston hospital after falling from a second-story window of a home in Westford, MA.

Thankfully, the baby was conscious and alert when transported. Our thoughts are with the child and family, and we're hoping for a full recovery. ❀️

A heartfelt thank you to the Westford police, firefighters, paramedics, and air medical team who responded.

This is also an important reminder for parents and caregivers: **Window screens are not safety barriers.** Keep furniture away from windows and make sure windows accessible to young children are properly secured.

A few precautions can help prevent a heartbreaking accident.

πŸ₯ When a nursing home changes hands, what happens to the people who call it home?

The planned sale of Penacook Place in Haverhill is raising serious concerns, especially with reports linking one of the potential buyers to a nursing home operator facing state action over care quality.

While the sale still awaits final approval, it raises an important question for our community:

How do we make sure residents, their families, and the staff caring for them remain the priority when ownership changes?

For families trusting these facilities with their loved ones, quality care, dignity, and safety should never be negotiable. ❀️

This is a story worth following.

πŸ’™ **81 Years of Progress. Every Talent Matters.**

This October, we recognize the 81st anniversary of **National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)** and celebrate the valuable contributions people with disabilities make to our workplaces and communities.

At **LifeCare Ambulance**, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to work, grow, and contribute their talents.

In healthcare and emergency medical services, we know that strong teams are built on different experiences, perspectives, and abilities.

As we serve communities throughout Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire, we're reminded that inclusion goes beyond the workplace. It's about treating every person with dignity, respect, and fairness.

πŸ’™ **Every ability matters. Every contribution counts.**

Let's continue building workplaces and communities where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

πŸ’‰ Not Sure If You're Protected Against Measles? You're Not Alone.

Do you remember when you last received your measles vaccine? For many adults, the answer is probably no.

With measles outbreaks raising concerns, now is a good time to check your vaccination history.

Measles is highly contagious, and knowing whether you're protected matters, especially if you're around young children, older adults, or people with weakened immune systems.

If you're unsure about your immunity, talk to your healthcare provider. They can help you review your records and determine whether you need additional protection.

**A little peace of mind starts with knowing your vaccination status.**

πŸ“° NPR explores what to do if you're uncertain about your measles immunity:
https://buff.ly/APdQPSK

Vaccination is the best way to protect yourself against measles. For most adults, one shot of the MMR is considered enough protection. But there are certain situations that call for a second dose.
