A little less worrying. A little more praying. A whole lot more trusting. 🤍🏒

One week from today hockey tryouts begin, and if I’m being honest, my heart has been carrying a lot of hopes, fears, and what-ifs into this season.

I can spend the next 11 days worrying about every possibility, overthinking every scenario, and trying to prepare my heart for an outcome I can’t control…

Or I can spend those 11 days praying. 🙏🏼

So I created an 11-Day Hockey Tryout Prayer Journal to intentionally pray over my boys, their hearts, their confidence, their fears, their friendships, and the people they’ll be surrounded by this season.

But these prayers aren’t just for them.

They’re for me, too.

For my anxious thoughts.
For the fears I carry as their mom.
For the outcomes I’m already trying to prepare myself for.
For the reminder that I don’t have to have it all figured out.
I’m praying for calm hearts, confident minds, courage in the face of fear, resilience through disappointment, and the ability to find joy in the game no matter what happens.
I’m praying that their identities remain rooted in who God says they are, not in a jersey, a team, a position, or a coach’s decision.
And I’m praying that I can be the mom they need through all of it. A mom who brings peace instead of pressure. Who encourages instead of projects her fears. Who trusts God’s plan even when it looks different from the one she imagined.
I can want something deeply and still surrender it fully to God.

So for the next 11 days, I’m trying my best to trade my worrying for intentional prayer. I’m choosing to be present instead of consumed by the what-ifs. And I’m reminding myself that these boys are growing into who God created them to be, and hockey is just one small part of their story. 🫶🏼

Happy to share this prayer journal with other hockey moms who want to lean into prayer alongside me. Drop something in the comments or DM me and I’ll be in touch. 🤍

Cooper 13 is 13!

On September 25, 2013, at 11:34am, you made me a mom.

Thirteen years later, watching you become the young man you are is one of my greatest joys.

You stole my heart the moment you arrived, Coop, and you make it so easy for me to keep loving you more every day.

I’m so thankful for you.
So proud of you.
And so proud to be your mom.

No matter how big you get or where life takes you, I’ll always be your biggest cheerleader.

You can always find me on the sidelines… if you don’t hear me first.

Happy 13th birthday to the boy who made me a mom and changed all of our lives forever.

I love you more than words could ever explain.

Always,
Mom ❤️

When your camera roll starts to look a whole lot like the prayers you’ve prayed. 🤍

Healthy. Strong. Joyful kids.
Kind, caring friends who show up for them.
The freedom to be silly, loud, and completely themselves.
And most importantly, little hearts learning to love Jesus.

Coop + one of his very best buddies, making memories last night at Celebrate Mn.💙🩵

There’s a lot of mental load that comes with travel sports… and figuring out what everyone is going to eat, when they’re going to eat it, and how to make it happen between games is definitely a big part of it.

Packing meals is one more thing on my plate, but for me, it’s worth it.

Worth the extra planning.
Worth the cooler taking up half the car.
Worth eating dinner in a parking lot if it means we are eating together. 🫶🏼

Because I’d rather spend a few extra minutes packing food we feel good about than spend every weekend in the Chipotle pickup lane or living at the concession stand. And hot take- most concession stands are lame.

It’s not about doing it perfectly. It’s just one small way I can make our sports life feel a little easier—and keep my family fed along the way.

Banana Ball at Grayson Stadium 💯 must! 🏟️
Even better when you get to experience it with one of your best buddies from your baseball team. Fell in love with the Nana’s and all the free food & drinks.

Swimming at the base pool in Parris Island and ended the day at Mellow Mushroom 🍄

Tybee Island, no photos because I was captivated by the dolphins, then found a few shark teeth!

Pirate House, ghost tour, Leopold’s Ice Cream 🍦

That’s a wrap on our 12U travel ball season, and I’d say we hit it out of the park with this Sandlot-inspired photo shoot.

It’s hard to put into words how grateful we are for this team. Baseball teaches so much more than the game itself, and watching Cooper be surrounded by teammates who encourage, support, and genuinely enjoy being together has been one of the greatest gifts.

I hope these boys always remember this season—not just for the wins or the losses, but for the friendships, the laughs, the long weekends, and the memories they made along the way.

Childhood goes by fast. Here’s to a season they’ll never forget. ⚾️🤍

Celebrating our very first Fourth of July at the cabin.

Long summer days. Time on the boat. Meals on the grill. No phones. No rush. Just family, friends, 90’s country on the local radio station, and the simple kind of fun that reminds us of summers growing up.

This is exactly why we bought the cabin.

Thanks to everyone who made our first Fourth one to remember. If I didn’t catch you on camera, know you were still part of what made this week so special. Xo

This season is busy. It’s loud. It’s a lot of driving, packing dinners, and late nights.

But it’s also a front-row seat to their childhood.

And that’s a seat I’ll never take for granted. 🫶🏼
