In the past few weeks, various board members have presented their quality improvement projects at national conferences! Sebastian McGee presented his project on pediatric immunization access at the American Academy of Pediatrics 2026 National Conference and Exhibition in San Diego. Additionally, Caitlyn Murphy and Daniel Newlands presented their project on missed schedule care at the Society for Student Run Free Clinics Conference in Los Angeles, while Ben VanPelt presented his and Hetvi Solanki’s project on depression screenings at the same conference. CARES is dedicated to improving our clinic, and all these projects aimed to maximize the care we provide our patients!

We are VERY excited to announce our MUSC CARES Clinic Fundraiser Social, which will be held on October 15th at Over the Horizon Brewing! There will be a silent auction with many wonderful items and experiences generously donated by local Charleston businesses. The auction will open online on October 8th. We hope you’ll support our mission to provide free, accessible care to uninsured patients in the Charleston community. And… have fun some while doing it!
