Muscatine PreventT2 Diabetes Program

Muscatine PreventT2 Diabetes Program Have you been told you have prediabetes? This year-long program is designed to help you make serious, evidence-based, lifestyle changes. The Muscatine PreventT2 Diabetes Program is part of the National Diabetes Prevention Program, led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

It is scientifically proven to help people with prediabetes make the lifestyle changes they need to reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by 58 percent. In the U.S., Type 2 diabetes affects over 30.3 million people; another 84 million people have prediabetes, yet only about 10 percent are aware of it, so the need for prevention has never been greater. Diabetes has no cure, but prediabetes can be reversed.

Mission: Our team of Lifestyle Coaches has one distinct goal: moderate weight loss and increased physical activity to lower your risk of Type 2 diabetes.

Friday, 11/30 from 4-8 pm at the Muscatine Hy-Vee (2400 2nd Ave.) FREE A1c blood tests are available. Contact Kara Zigament at 264-2420 for more info.

An A1c test can be used to diagnose prediabetes or diabetes. The A1c test checks the long-term control of blood glucose levels in people with diabetes. This is the best way to check how well a person is controlling his or her diabetes.
