When an artist shares their work with the world, it’s a gift—when they share it two years in a row to lift up the next generation of creative minds, it’s a community-changing act of generosity.
A massive, heartfelt thank you to the brilliant Lehu for donating another incredible piece to our benefit auction this year. Having your continued partnership means our students don’t just learn about art in theory; they see firsthand what a thriving, compassionate creative community looks like in practice. Your generosity directly fuels hands-on youth arts programming, giving young people the space, tools, and confidence to find their own creative voice.

The Movement of Water by Pierre Lehu
Inspired by Pierre Lehu's travels around the world, this photographic collection captures the beauty of reflections on water, transforming everyday scenes into extraordinary works of abstract art. Through the natural movement of water, familiar shapes, colors, and architecture become fluid compositions that blur the line between photography and painting. Each image captures a fleeting moment, revealing a unique perspective on the beauty hidden in the world around us.

Not 1 but 2 amazing pieces by Ashley Gayle
"Rebirth" and "Frolic" 8x10 Digital Art

Ashley Gayle is a multi-passionate creative who writes, paints, and draws. Her current writing focus is on children's book manuscripts that center multigenerational families, navigating the in-between, Caribbean immigration, quiet confidence, and connection to nature. In painting, she is working on a series that moves through the seasons, highlighting Black women in nature; she is actively collecting and preserving natural elements (flowers, leaves, shells) to incorporate into these acrylic paintings on wood canvases. She also draws traditionally, as well as dabbles digitally. Ashley envisions her future work merging visual art, writing, and natural elements and intends to illustrate her children's books down the line. Ashley is based in Providence, RI but was born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens. Outside of art, she loves walking, cooking, quiet nights, the ocean, and being in the company with authenticity and joy.
