The gut-brain connection is real! It's like a two-way street, where what you eat can affect how you think and feel. It's incredible how closely connected our gut health is to our mental well-being. Time to return both ends of the highway.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Here are a few things I'm especially grateful for today and every day:
❤️Family
🧡Friends
💛My health
🧡The ability to move my body
❤️The food I eat. Especially animals who give their lives to nourish us.
It's easy to take things for granted. It feels good to remind ourselves how lucky we are!
What are you thankful for this year?
Happy Monday!
Here is a reminder that change takes time. Some changes can result in you noticing them immediately, but the most important ones come from changing your bad habits slowly until you barely remember how you used to have them. Creat new habits one at a time. Make small changes. They add up 🤗
Start with things like
5 minutes of stretching every morning
Lemon water as soon as you wake up
Be mindful with every meal (no phones or tv)
5 minutes of meditation
End your shower with some cold water
You'd be surprised how a small step can start to improve you health and inspire you to take more steps
DM me to work together on improving your health!
Let's talk about nutrition for your skin!
I was fortunate enough to skip the teenage acne, but as an adult I struggled with frequent breakouts. To be honest, it is still something I struggle with. BUT since focusing on creating a lifestyle that supports my gut & hormone health, it has made a world of a difference. Here are some things you can do to support your skin health (all over your body)
🛑 STOP Eating foods that cause inflammation (processed sugars, sugary cereals, fried foods, most packaged foods, low-fat options, seed oils)
🛑 STOP over stressing your body. Don't go to extremes with every workout / Take time away from your phone and computer... Being productive is good, but those emails will wait for you!
🟢START including more whole foods into your diet. Minimize the processed foods. Make sure you are eating grass-fed meat, organic veggies, and healthy fats (whole fat everything 🙌) with almost every meal.
🟢START carving out time to de-stress. Take a walk. Make time to meditate. Do things to treat yourself (facials, acupuncture, yoga classes, massages... treat yourself! It helps!)
🟢START giving your digestive system time to rest. Stop eating a few hours before bed to give your system time for it to reset and ready to do what it's made to do the next day. Also sleep 8 hours please.

How can you reach your goals if you don't set them?
Even if they're small, set goals for yourself weekly. You won't see any progress if you don't have a way to measure it 😉
Tips to setting goals:
Make sure they are SMART
Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Based.
Set long-term and short-term goals and make sure your actions reflect these goals.
We need balance! When one thing is off, everything will be off. It's hard work, but you need to approach your health from all angles. Symptoms
like acne, PMS, irregular periods, cramps, acid reflux, low energy, can ALL be a sign that your liver is stressed!
The liver is our major detox organ- which means when it is stressed out, your other systems will be too. Our
body is designed to break down and eliminate things it doesn't need (hormones, toxins, chemicals, fat) and when it can't do that, it goes into a total stressed state. Specifically this can cause a decline in gut health and
hormone health.
Start small, simple, and in one place- eat liver detoxifying foods like artichokes, beets, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, garlic,
grapefruit, kale, onions, and turmeric.
Drink lots of water.
DM me to start working to find other ways to support your health through simple nutrition and lifestyle changes.
BENEFITS OF LIFTING WEIGHTS FOR YOUR GUT HEALTH
…... and your health overall!
We all know that lifting weights can help you build muscle, but it can help you build the perfect gut biome too! (plus you don't have to go crazy with the weights. Start
with where you are comfortable and work your way up)
Lifting weights regularly can lead to greater microbial diversity, boost your energy, help keep your digestive system moving properly, and even help to balance your hormones.
On top of that, building muscle can lead to increased fat loss. Creating a healthy exercise routine can boost your immune system and also connect you with mind, body, and spirit.
There isn't a day where I regret my strength training. I always feel better when I include it in my daily routine.

What is your body telling you?
Do you know what foods make your body feel like you're thriving? If you trust your gut and tune into your body, you can see what is working to heal you through your digestion. Digestion should be
uncomplicated. Digestion should lead to:
▪️energy from, and satisfaction after every meal
▪️no bloating
▪️no acid reflux
▪️knowing when you are hungry and knowing when you are full
▪️having a healthy bathroom schedule 💩
Trust your gut. Love your body. Do everything you can to be the best version of you.
I have helped my clients achieve a healthy digestion on
their health journey, which makes solving other underlying issues a whole lot easier. DM me for help on your journey.

Happy Birthday to my best friend, best supporter, and best crab royale for four for two partner 🦀 🦞 ❤️
Your gut microbiome has huge effects on your health, but do you know how extensive they are?
The bacteria that make up our gut microbiome actually produce genes, enzymes, and biochemical pathways that we can’t provide for ourselves.
Our gut bacteria does a lot - from digesting fiber to producing essential vitamins and even manipulating our moods.
Compounds produced by our gut bacteria are absorbed into our blood and perform functions in our organs, immune system, and nervous system.
When our gut is balanced and healthy, there's very little space for, and the good bacteria makes sure it is hard for pathogens to survive.
The gut does a lot for us, so let's start doing a lot for IT!
DM me to get started on fixing your gut health!
Eating at restaurants while wanting to take care of your body shouldn't be a stressor. Here are some tips to keep an active social life and still be working toward your goals
Before going out, take a digestive enzyme and a probiotic.
Try to choose a restaurant that works for you, if you are the one choosing. Don't be afraid to ask for special accommodations for your food at the restaurant
Make sure you are fully hydrated before going out!! We often mistake hunger for dehydration
If fast food is your only option, AVOID the soda!! Drink water.
Everyone has hormones that need to be balanced! This is not just a female issue. Here are some steps everyone can take no matter what is imbalanced in your body:
1. Eliminate obstacles to hormonal balance
2. Eat a healthful, whole food diet
3. Correct your gut health
4. Manage chronic stress
5. Spend more time outdoors
6. Support detoxification and elimination 💩
7. Get exercise regularly
8. Prioritize your sleep!!
For the first item on that list, here are some of the obstacles we need to overcome:
1. Lowfat, high-sugar, high-carb diet
2. Over-committed lifestyle
3. Alcohol and recreational drugs
4. Chronic infections
5. GMOs
6. Gut permeability
7. Electro-magnetic fields, radiation
8. Antibiotics and other prescription and over-the-counter medications
9. Toxic personal care and cleaning products, most of which contain known estrogenics.

Red meat gets a bad rap. When it's pumped with hormones and antibiotics, it deserves that bad reputation. BUT grass-fed meat is a true superfood. Loaded with iron, zinc, B vitamins, protein, and healthy fat - it's definitely something you should think about including in your diet. (Unless you have a pre-existing condition where you should not!)
Ditch the processed carbs and sugar that go along with red meat meals (bread 😬) and watch how your health improves. Meat isn't the problem. Processed foods cause the problems!
Treat your body right!
Your mental health is IMPORTANT.
Prioritize it ❤️
Another reason why we should prioritize gut health:
Didn't think your gut health and brain health were linked?
(*Cue memories of running to the bathroom before a race 🏊♀️ *) Having a "gut-feeling" is a REAL thing. Any emotion can effect your gut.
Your gut is considered your second brain, and when you don't treat it right, your first brain begins to notice it. They are directly connected through millions of neurons!
Improved gut health -> improved mental health and vice versa.
The second photo is from the American Journal of Psychology.
Your gut health is more than just your digestion!
Ever since I have begun to prioritize my gut health, I have gotten sick less frequently, less severely, and the recovery time has dramatically shortened.
Your gut is the main part of your immune system. Take care of this and watch yourself handle illnesses a lot better than you ever have ❤️
Raise your hand if you've been told you have PCOS or symptoms that align with PCOS. 🙋🏼♀️ 🙄
Sadly, more and more women I encounter suffer from PCOS- like symptoms:
Irregular/ missing menstruation, painful menstruation cramps, oversensitivity to carbs, acne, hirsutism, unwanted weight gain, thinning hair, etc.
Most women are also told the only solution is to go on birth control. But that only covers up the problem!!
Studies have shown that an imbalance microbiome can lead to imbalanced hormones, which can lead to development of the symptoms above. Imbalance hormones cause an imbalanced microbiome, and vice versa.
Here's some tips for you to start your journey to beating PCOS and feeling amazing again.
1. Begin by removing dairy, gluten,
vegetable oils, soy products, and added sugar.
2. Make sure to include lots of veggies, fermented foods, organic meats and eggs, whole grains (low Gl: quinoa, ancient grains……), fruits, and healthy fats.
3. Drink lots of water with minerals (salt is your friend).
4. Be active! Find activities you love to help move your body.
5. There are some supplements that will help reduce inflammation and help balance your hormones, but laying the foundation above is the first step on your road to beating PCOS.
Visit my website or DM me for more support on your road to a healthy and happy life!
Here's why:
📈Eating saturated fat increases your HDL cholesterol (that's the good one!)
🧠 Eatibg saturated fat and cholesterol is essential for and boosts your brain health!
😋 Eating saturated fat helps you stay feeling full and reduces cravings
❤️Along with saturated fats and cholesterol comes lots of important nutrients
Good sources of healthy saturated fats: coconut oil, ghee, grass-fed beef, cheese, eggs, full-fat dairy.
you're in the right place ❣️ 🗺
If you suffer from symptoms like:
🥱 fatigue
🤰🏼 bloating
🤢 acid reflux
🔴 skin issues
🤒 low immune system
💤 poor sleep
⚖️unwanted weight changes
❓hormonal imbalances
❔nutrient deficiencies
it’s worth checking into your gut health. Symptoms like the ones above are very likely caused by a gut imbalance, which left untreated can lead to nutrient deficiencies, inflammation, and stress.
You will end up saving time, money, and resources by addressing this root issue first! Improving your gut health will improve your overall health!
