You wake up at the same hour every time. Sometimes 3:00, sometimes 3:30, sometimes 4. Your eyes open and you are immediately, completely awake.
You have been told it is anxiety. Cortisol. Hormones. Your liver. Your routine.
Sometimes it is. Often it is something else entirely.
Your brain and body have spent the day managing the schedule, the people, the demands. The first moment they get quiet together is the middle of the night. And what arrives at 3am are the things that have been waiting all day for the noise to stop.
That is not insomnia. That is your knowing. And it has been patient long enough.
