Julia Maz | Veggie Recipes MY VIRAL GARLIC ROASTED OKRA!! 🔥
(Recipe below!!)
If you think you hate okra because of the texture… you’ve literally just been cooking it wrong this whole time! 😮💨
Roasting it at screaming high heat with melted butter, garlic, and paprika completely changes the game. No sliminess, zero weird texture—just crispy, caramelized little bites with smoky edges that pop in your mouth like salty popcorn. Once you start eating them off the pan, it’s honestly impossible to stop! 👀😛
Ingredients:
• 1 lb (450g) fresh okra
• 1½ tbsp (22g) plant butter, melted (or olive oil)
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp paprika
• ½ tsp sea salt (or to taste)
Instructions:
1. Rinse okra and pat completely dry with paper towels. (Moisture is the enemy of crispiness!)
2. Trim stems and slice into ½ to ¾-inch rounds. Toss into a bowl.
3. In a small dish, mix garlic powder, paprika, and sea salt.
4. Pour melted plant butter over okra, sprinkle the spice blend, and toss until every single piece is glossy and coated.
5. Spread evenly in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet (don’t crowd the pan!).
6. Roast at 450°F (230°C) for about 15 minutes until edges are deeply golden and crispy.
Serve sizzling hot straight off the tray! 🤤
