Happy World Sight Day from Spoken Heroes! 👁️✨🌍🧡💚

Today, we celebrate more than sight. We celebrate independence, accessibility, inclusion, and the many different ways people experience and navigate the world!

At , we believe that vision loss does not define a person’s potential, abilities, or future. Whether someone uses a white cane, guide dog, smart glasses, accessible technology, support professionals, or no visible assistance at all, everyone’s journey is unique and deserves to be respected.

Let’s continue breaking barriers, challenging misconceptions, and creating a world where people who are blind or have low vision have equal opportunities to thrive.

Because inclusion isn’t just about what we see. It’s about how we choose to see and value one another!

October is not only National Disability Employment Awareness Month, but also Blindness Awareness Month.

At , we recognize that blindness does not look the same for everyone. Some people use white canes, guide dogs, smart glasses, accessible technology, or assistance from support professionals, while others use no visible aid.

Blind and DeafBlind people are professionals, advocates, innovators, entrepreneurs, and community leaders. This month and every month, we remain committed to breaking down barriers, expanding access, and creating inclusive spaces where people of all abilities can learn, work, lead, and thrive.

Awareness begins with understanding, and inclusion starts with access. ✨🧡

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)! ✨🧡💜

At , disability inclusion is more than awareness. It means creating real opportunities for people with disabilities to learn, lead, work, contribute, and thrive.

Throughout NDEAM, we celebrate the skills, talents, perspectives, and contributions people with disabilities bring to workplaces and communities every day. We also recognize the importance of building workplaces where accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunity are part of the culture.

See the person, not the label. See the talent. See the potential. See the Hero. 🌟

Meet Shahan Adil, a Computer Engineering student at Rutgers University–New Brunswick and a Spoken Heroes intern. 💜

For Shahan, became an opportunity to look beyond technology and engineering and focus on the people those solutions are meant to serve.

Through listening to lived experiences within the disability community, Shahan shares how he developed a deeper understanding of empathy, accessibility, and inclusive engineering and how those lessons will influence the way he approaches challenges and creates solutions moving forward.

That’s what Innovating Inclusion is all about: learning from real experiences, designing with empathy, and creating lasting impact. 💡♿

At Spoken Heroes, is about creating space for real experiences, fresh perspectives, and meaningful conversations around disability, accessibility, technology, and inclusion.

Through our Tech Design & Development interns, we’re highlighting the next generation of innovators as they discover how accessibility and inclusion can shape the way we design, build, and create.

Their voices are part of a much bigger conversation, and we want you to be part of it too. 💡♿

Continue the conversation. 💜

Meet Ryan Chung, an NJIT student and Web Development & Design intern with Spoken Heroes!

Ryan’s experience is a reminder that accessibility isn’t something added after a website is built. It’s part of designing with everyone in mind from the beginning.

During his internship, Ryan learned how even small decisions in web development can make a big difference in whether people can access and use what we create. From inclusive design and accessibility to person-first language, he’s taking lessons from Spoken Heroes that he says have changed the way he approaches technology forever.

We’re excited to see where Ryan takes that perspective next. 💻♿

💡 Innovating Inclusion, one idea at a time.

Meet Max Gargarita, an NJIT student and Web Design & Development Intern with Spoken Heroes. This summer, Max has been exploring how AI and accessible technology can help break down barriers, expand access, and create more inclusive digital experiences. 💻♿

Through our Innovating Inclusion spotlight series, we’re giving our interns the opportunity to share their voices, their work, and the impact they hope to make beyond their internship.

Because innovation isn’t only about what we create. It’s about who we make sure is included. ✨🧡💜
