Do your part please...

Do your part please...

To our community,

We are writing this letter from the front lines of TMC HealthCare.
We are not strangers. We are your neighbors, your friends and your families. Our children are in the same classes, even though they’re online right now. We patronize your businesses and stand in line together at the grocery store.

We’ve been here for you when you need us the most for more than 75 years. Now, we need you.

We work day in and day out caring for our community, then we go home to care for our own families, scared we might bring the virus home and worried about what the future will bring. We’ve held the hands of patients because their families can’t. We’ve watched as cases soar, as schools close and as the hospital nears or reaches capacity almost daily. Yet, we keep going.

We know you are tired. We see you.

Now, we need you to see us. We are tired, too. We are tired of seeing young people, our elders and everyone in between on ventilators. We are tired of watching people we know get sick from this virus. Our co-workers are getting sick and we are short-staffed. It is becoming more difficult to transfer patients who have critical needs to hospitals that have ICU capacity for greater levels of care.

We have activated our surge plans to expand our capacity for COVID patients and we are working to recruit travel labor so we can staff those beds. We are doing everything we can to keep our community safe.

Now it’s your turn. Our future - your future - is in your hands.
We know we’ve asked a lot. You’ve worn masks. You’ve sheltered in place. Our community has done so much, but now is not the time to give up. We are spending our holidays caring for sick patients. We are asking you, our beloved community, to think about your loved ones and make a few more sacrifices. Please heed the advice of public health experts by washing your hands, wearing your mask in public and staying home with your families. Please stop socializing in person with multiple households for a while.

The next couple of weeks will be critical in slowing the spread, and our hospitals need to catch up. We need your help in order to do that. We need our community to rally behind us. We need support and encouragement. We need each other. We are in this together, and we will get through this together.
Yours,
Judy Rich, RN,

"Doctors were asked if we should reopen the country. Here's what the experts said:

Allergists were in favor of scratching it, and the Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves.

Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling not to reopen, and Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve and was likely brain dead.

Obstetricians felt certain everyone was laboring under a misconception, while Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted.

Many Pathologists yelled, "Over my dead body!" while Pediatricians said, "Oh, grow up!”

Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while Radiologists could see right through it.

Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing and Internists claimed it would indeed be a bitter pill to swallow.

Plastic Surgeons opined that this proposal would "put a whole new face on the matter.”

Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea.

Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas and wanted to sleep on it, and those lofty Cardiologists thought it was off beat, didn’t have the heart to say no.

In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the ******** in Washington"

I chose 𝓂𝓎 𝓁𝒾𝒻𝑒 today...

& my family members who have pre-existing conditions that wouldn’t get a ventilator if they contracted #COVID19 from me

I had a different idea in mind when I got to my #ICU this morning; I expected to see ALL OF OUR #NURSES & STAFF wearing #N95 masks but 𝙣𝙤 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝘼𝙉𝙔𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙊𝙉...

Each ICU room had ‘make-shift’ ante-rooms attached to them created with plastic tarp & massive amounts of tape..

A charge Nurse was passing out single N95 masks to nurses with a brown paper bag for them to store their mask in which was to be in inside their plastic ante-rooms & to 𝙗𝙚 𝙧𝙚-𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚-𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙙𝙖𝙮...

I asked “well what if there’s possible contamination to that N95 mask..? What about my safety”

My manager told me “well our staff safety is our main priority right now ... if we get enough masks, we may consider having staff wear surgical masks in the weeks to come..”

I replied, “But it’s Airborne... those surgical masks won’t protect us ..”

My manager then tells me “ we’ve kept up with the CDC & it is only when the COVID patient has any aerosol type treatments like a ventilator, nasal cannula, nebulizer etc that’s it’s airborne..otherwise it’s droplet ..”

I replied “& 90% of our patients are intubated, paralyzed, & positive for COVID.. people not even in the hospital environment are spreading it .. we have to assume everyone is infected..especially in the hospital environment, & 𝕟𝕠 𝕠𝕟𝕖 𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕟 𝕙𝕒𝕤 𝕒 𝕕𝕣𝕠𝕡𝕝𝕖𝕥 𝕞𝕒𝕤𝕜 𝕠𝕟”

I then told her of nurses wearing a surgical droplet masks on their units & now intubated & fighting for their lives ...

Tears were streaming down my face & fog in my glasses at this point..

I thought to myself.. 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘳 𝘣𝘶𝘺 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴..?

I asked one last time pleading with tears in my eyes..

“Can I please just wear 𝐦𝐲 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐍𝟗𝟓 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐤... I understand we have a shortage but I have my OWN ”

My manager told me that they couldn’t allow me to wear it.

So I gave report, & left.

America is NOT prepared & Nurses are NOT safe.
Plz DM me any telehealth jobs.
