Our organization was created to address the lack of programs within our area for those with special needs, and to inspire inclusivity within our community and foster a welcoming culture where all individuals with special needs are able to participate and flourish. With that mission in mind- we aren't just like any other existing organization that has already aimed for this; we strive in connecting
families and communities, and want to do so in the most accessible way possible. We hope to foster connections between not just those with special needs, but those who live around them, their families, their friends, and the community at large. Our programs aim to build strong bonds and end some of the stigma surrounding special needs individuals by building a sense of understanding and friendship, and improving our communities as a whole through breaking down barriers for those who may not have the means to do so.

Individuals of all abilities are invited to celebrate the holiday season with us! The Therapeutic Holiday Party will be available in person or online via zoom. We will have a DJ, live music performance, dancing and snacks so you can spend time connecting with new friends. Direct supervision will not be provided.

Due to COVID capacity restrictions imposed by the venue, the 5th UniversAbility Pageant has reached the maximum capacity allowed. We apologize for the inconvenience but we have the responsibility to safeguard the health and welfare of our delegations. Thank you for you understanding.

Here is the detailed plan for attending the 5th UniversAbility Pageant (please, refer to the diagram attached):
- Local attendees: The address of the event is One Health Center, 1714 SW 17th Ave., Ocala, FL 34471. The event will start at 5:30PM EST. Due to COVID-19 policies, we can only have 50 people in the event room so we request that, if you plan to come to the event in person, please, limit the attendees to the participant plus 2 related persons. It will be on a first come-first serve basis and when the total number have reached, we are not allowed to have more people inside the event room. We created the broadcast below to make it easier for you to watch the whole event and pre-event from the comfort of your home (see details below).
- Remote attendees (relatives, friends, general public): The whole event starting at 5:30PM EST plus a pre-event test starting at 3:30PM EST will be broadcasted on Facebook LIVE. It will be an open broadcast from Facebook user Ricardo Haragutchi (we had to do that because Facebook does not allow us to broadcast to several pages and groups simultaneously. It is limited to only one group or one page. When the public broadcast starts, a notification will be sent to UniversAbility Pageant Page, and UniversAbility Participant Group.
- Remote participants: If you are a remote participant, you should have received a separate note giving you the Zoom link for you to fully participate. It is important that you participate over Zoom because we will want to interact with you if your name is called to receive an award. Note that you will be on mute when you get into Zoom and you will only be allowed to unmute when your name is called. Please, be ready to use between 15 to 30 seconds to introduce yourself and thank for the award. Parents can speak on behalf of the student if the student is not able to at that time. IMPORTANT: when you log into Zoom, put the name of the participant otherwise we will not be able to let you into the meeting room.
We want to apologize for the inconvenience due to COVID-19 restriction and thank you for your understanding. Together, we will make it memorable!

I came here to provide some final directions on how you will be able to watch the event broadcast on Facebook LIVE and the pre-show. if you are a participant, you should have received a different note with different directions because you will have to interact with the audience. These instructions are simply to receive the event online broadcast.
I, myself will be at the event site around noon on Saturday to prepare the environment (this is the equivalent of mid-night in the Philippines and 13:00h in Brazil). From that time on, you can contact me for any support related to the event. You can reach me at:

Ambassador Nicole here, with some more exciting news! Yesterday I received, on behalf of the Champions for Champions UniversAbility Pageant committee, the official message of gratitude from the Camarines Norte District Coordinator of Special Education in the Philippines and all the schools that are sending representatives to the event:
- Labo Elementary School
- Sta. Elena Integrated School
- Claudio Villagen Elementary School
- Labo Science and Technology High School
- Tanauan South Central School
They are sending 16 students in total. Adding to the one additional student from the Philippines and 4 students from Brazil, we came so far to a total of 21 international participants.

Miss Universe Brazil, Julia Gama (First Runner-up on the 2020 Miss Universe Competition) visited the UniversAbility Pageant Brazilian Delegation this weekend!
On a memorable meeting, Miss Julia Gama provided encouragement and tips to the 4 Brazilian students that are going to participate (Emanuelle, Gabriela, Joao and Cecilia). Also present was meeting host Jane (APAE of Cascavel Director), Vandre ( APAE of Cascavel PR Manager), Celia (APAE of Cascavel Teacher), and student sponsors Sonia Lima, Sonia Kajimoto and Fabiana Hayashi!
