sugardash Glucose at a glance. A touchscreen glucose display for home or school, built by a T1D family. Welcome to sugardash!

Check compatibility, explore sugardash, and get setup help at mysugardash.com. This shop was born from my personal journey with type one diabetes and my family’s daily experiences of managing care for our son, Dash, who was diagnosed at three years old. As both a parent and someone who has lived with T1D since the age of four, I know firsthand how challenging and all-consuming diabetes management can be — especially when caring for a child. Over the years, Dash and I have used just about everything — finger pricks, syringes, pens, pumps, and a variety of CGMs. These days, we both wear CGMs, and sugardash has become the perfect CGM companion. It’s made it so much easier to keep an eye on things without constantly checking a phone or opening an app. sugardash is a simple, always-on display that helps families stay aware and connected. Whether mounted on a wall or set on a counter, it’s designed to bring a little more peace of mind to daily diabetes life

We realized recently that our sugardash has not moved in two years.

It sits on the mantle in the family room, exactly where we first put it. We walk past it while making breakfast, folding laundry, helping with homework, and moving through all the ordinary parts of family life.

Sometimes we look and take action. Most of the time, we look and keep going.

That permanence was always part of the idea. We did not want one more thing to remember to charge or carry. We wanted the information to stay put so we always knew where to find it.

Two years. Same spot. Still doing its job.

One of the most common emails we receive starts with some version of: 'How close does my child need to be to sugardash?'

We realized we had skipped an important part of the story. sugardash does not connect directly to the sensor. Your CGM sends its data through the connected system you already use, and sugardash retrieves the available information through the internet.

That is why Dash can be at school while his number appears on the display in our family room. It is also why Brandon can go for a run while Jana sees his available reading at home.

We built sugardash to give glucose information a place in your home, even when the person you love is somewhere else.

We'll tell you something that sounds strange for people who sell a product: You can live without sugardash.

We did before we built it. We checked our phones. We opened the apps. We managed.

Then sugardash became part of our home, and we noticed all the tiny moments it gave back to us. We could glance instead of search. Jana could see Brandon's number while he ran. We could check on Dash without turning family time into another phone moment.

That's why this product can be hard to explain. The difference rarely arrives as one dramatic moment. You feel it in the repeated, ordinary parts of the day.

Some of our customers have told us the same thing. They buy one unsure of how much they will use it, then come back for another room or for school.

We get it. That's how it happened for us too.

We put our sugardash on the mantle in the family room when we first built it.

Two years later, it is still in the exact same spot.

We never wanted another device that traveled from room to room with us. We already had that device. It was our phone, and we were tired of carrying diabetes around on it every minute of the day.

We wanted one dependable place to look. Now, as we move through the house, the glance happens almost without thinking.

Our sugardash belongs on the mantle. We've seen other families put theirs beside the bed, in the kitchen, or at school.

If sugardash lived in your home, where would you put it?

I remember looking at an early version of sugardash and asking myself, 'What do I actually want to see on this screen all day?'

As someone who lives with type 1 diabetes, I knew I did not want another screen asking me to analyze myself every time I walked past it. I wanted the number, the direction, and enough context to know whether I needed to pay attention.

Sugardash looks simple because I spent a lot of time deciding what our family could live without at first glance. The display is simple when you need it, and offers more detail when you want it.

Sometimes Riley notices Dash’s numbers on sugardash before he asks for help.

It gives her a reason to check in with her brother. “Are you feeling okay?” “Do you need anything?”

As a parent, those little moments mean a lot. She’s learning to recognize when he might need support, and he has another person in his corner.

That’s part of what sugardash brings to our family: a way to stay aware and look out for each other in the middle of everyday life.

When Dash was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at three, we thought we had a head start.

Brandon had already spent years managing his own T1D. We knew the language. We knew the technology. We knew what a low looked like.

Then we came home and realized that knowing diabetes and managing it for two people in one family were very different things. We were checking two sets of numbers, reaching for our phones, and trying to keep track of everyone while still being a family.

One day Brandon said, 'What if we could put both of our numbers somewhere we could just see them?'

That question became sugardash.

We're the Crofts. This is the story of what we built for our own home and why we decided to share it with yours.

Four years ago today, our world changed forever. At just 3 years old, Dash was diagnosed with T1D. This journey inspired us to create sugardash—turning something so hard into something that could help other T1D families, too. Happy 4th Diaversary to my brave boy. 💙
