Good Afternoon EMS Partners,

The COVID 19 Pandemic has made it increasingly challenging for EMS practitioners to re-certify their required CPR training certification.

While the Commonwealth of PA had previously extended the expiration dates for CPR cards, this extension will end June 30, 2021 and EMS practitioners must secure the required certification prior to the June 30th deadline.

In an attempt to make CPR Re-Certification classes readily available to our EMS Practitioners, the Eastern PA EMS Council is launching a CPR Re-certification Campaign for all of our active EMS Practitioners.

Those interested must work or live within the 6-counties that make up the Eastern PA EMS Region. The Eastern PA EMS Council, based upon demand, will be hosting a number of CPR Re-Certification Classes throughout the region, *free of charge*, to those who have an interest.

Our first step is to identify the level of interest from our practitioners, thus a simplistic survey to identify the level of interest is attached. This survey will assist us in identifying the number of practitioners interested and also identify the counties in which the interest is high, thus supporting where the session should be hosted.

Please click the below link for the initial survey of interest and share with your staff and co- workers. A secondary registration form will then follow for those wishing to formally register.

Please note pre-registration will be required, class sizes will be limited and we hope to, again based upon interest, host sessions in all six counties.

Good Day EMS Partners,
As our nations response to the COVID 19 crisis enters the phase in which vaccinations become more readily available, our regional office is preparing to assist our many partners in this undertaking.

As you are aware, Pennsylvania has authorized Paramedics and Advanced EMT (AEMT) to administer the vaccination following the providers successful completion of a simplistic two-step process.

At this time, the Eastern PA EMS Council is expanding present operations and is soliciting additional Paramedics, Advanced EMTs and EMTs to support community vaccination clinics in our northern tier (Monroe County area), beginning in early to mid-May, and we are requesting your assistance.

As we did during the 2009 – 2010 HIN1 vaccination campaigns, EMS was instrumental in the successful vaccination of thousands of our family, friends and neighbors, and we want to repeat this mission as we all fight COVID 19.

How do I become involved and what is required:
- Program is open to certified PA paramedics and Advanced EMTs that have completed both the online vaccine awareness program AND have secured a validation of skills form from your EMS agency medical director;

- Paramedics and AEMTs (Vaccinators) will become independent contractors for the Eastern PA EMS Council and be compensated at a rate of $30.00 per hour by the EMS Council

- EMTs ( Vaccine Operations ) will become independent contractors for the Eastern PA EMS Council and be compensated at a rate of $20.00 per hour by the EMS Council
- Paramedics, AEMTs and EMTs will be scheduled for upcoming mass vaccination clinics through the Eastern PA EMS Council office
- To become involved, contact John Kloss via [email protected] to secure additional information and move forward with making a difference in our communities.

We thank you and look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible, again vaccination clinics in our northern tier will begin mid-May, join us as we again, rise to the occasion and demonstrate the many capabilities of our EMS system and it’s EMS professionals.

Thank you and stay safe,
John

#SlowDownMoveOver education needs to be a grassroots effort. Local responders need to speak directly to their local communities. We need to take the faces of our responders directly to the minds of the motorists. The Good Intent Hose Company of Llewellyn PA in coordination with some of our community partners have created this PSA in advance of National Traffic Incident Management Week. We challenge other fire, EMS, law enforcement and towing partners to do the same! https://www.facebook.com/LlewellynHose/videos/1305720922946310/
