October 7.
๐ช๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฅ.
We remember the innocent lives brutally taken. We remember the wounded, the families shattered, the communities devastated, the hostages torn from their homes, and all those whose lives were changed forever.
We remember the horror of the terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas โ the murders, the kidnappings, the destruction, and the cruelty inflicted upon innocent human beings.
We also remember the evidence of sexual violence against women and girls, including r**e and gang r**e, and the sexual violence suffered by hostages in captivity. We remember, too, the painful silence, hesitation, and delayed response from parts of the international community and institutions that had long promised to stand unequivocally with victims of sexual violence.

We remember all of this not to remain imprisoned in darkness, but because remembrance carries a sacred responsibility:
๐ก๐๐ฉ๐๐ฅ ๐ง๐ข ๐๐ข๐ข๐ ๐๐ช๐๐ฌ.
๐ก๐๐ฉ๐๐ฅ ๐ง๐ข ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐๐๐ง.
๐ก๐๐ฉ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐๐ก.
But October 7 will not have the final word.
Because alongside the unimaginable suffering, we also remember extraordinary courage โ people who risked their lives to save others, families who held one another together, communities that rose from devastation, and a nation that refused to surrender its future to hatred.
They tried to bring darkness.
๐๐ฆ๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐๐๐๐.
They tried to break a people.

Israel has known persecution, exile, war, terrorism, and profound loss. Yet generation after generation, the Jewish people have endured, rebuilt, remembered, and lived.
And we will continue to remember.
We will remember those who were murdered.
We will remember those who fought to protect others.
We will remember the survivors.
We will remember the hostages and their families.
We will remember every community forever marked by that day.
May the memory of those who were taken from us be a blessing.
May the wounded find healing.
May grieving families find comfort.
May hatred never overcome our humanity.
And may
