A blood draw at the dentist might sound a little unexpected. 🩸🦷

But when we're creating PRF, that small blood draw is the beginning of the process.

Your blood is placed into a centrifuge and spun to create a concentrated, fibrin-rich material containing platelets and other components involved in your body's natural healing response.

From there, Dr. Campus can prepare the PRF differently depending on how it will be used.

It may be combined with bone grafting material.

It can also be formed into a membrane and placed over soft tissue at a surgical site.

And because PRF comes directly from the patient, we're able to take components already present in your own blood, concentrate them, and use them right where your body is beginning the healing process.

No two procedures are exactly alike, and PRF isn't used in exactly the same way every time.

That's what makes this technology so interesting—and such a natural fit for the biologic approach at Biodental Health & Longevity. 🌿

Your body already knows how to heal.

PRF gives us a way to work alongside that process.

Healthy Smiles. Healthy Lives.

“Such a gem in Pensacola.” 🤍

We couldn't ask for a better compliment.

At Biodental Health & Longevity, we believe exceptional dental care begins with understanding that the health of your mouth is connected to the health of your whole body.

That philosophy influences everything from preventive hygiene to the way we approach advanced treatment, technology, surgical care, and wellness.

But none of it matters without a team that makes you feel cared for along the way.

Thank you for trusting Dr. Campus and our team—and for taking the time to share such kind words about your experience. 🌿

We’re proud to bring a different approach to dentistry right here in Pensacola.

One of the most fascinating tools we use during certain dental procedures doesn't come from a bottle or a lab.

It comes from you. 🩸🌿

PRF stands for Platelet-Rich Fibrin.

It begins with a simple blood draw. Your blood is placed into a centrifuge, where it is spun to separate and concentrate a fibrin-rich portion containing platelets and other components involved in your body's natural healing process.

And then we can actually use it during treatment.

At Biodental Health & Longevity, PRF may be incorporated into:

🦷 Extraction sites
🦷 Bone grafting procedures
🦷 Dental implant procedures
🦷 Soft-tissue healing

Depending on the procedure, PRF can be mixed with bone grafting material or manipulated into a membrane that can be placed over the surgical area.

The concept is beautifully simple: concentrate components already present in your own blood and place them directly where healing needs to occur.

It's one more way we're able to combine modern dentistry with your body's own biology.

Because when your body already has an incredible healing system, we want to work with it.

Healthy Smiles. Healthy Lives.

The dental procedure may happen in your mouth—but healing is a whole-body job. 🌿

After an extraction, bone graft, or implant procedure, your body immediately begins a complex process of repairing tissue and rebuilding the area.

That process relies on resources from throughout the body.

Blood flow helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to healing tissues. Your immune system responds to the surgical site. Proteins and other nutrients provide building blocks for tissue repair. And factors like blood sugar control, smoking or ni****ne use, certain medications, and underlying health conditions can influence how the healing process unfolds.

It's one of the reasons we believe dental care shouldn't happen in a vacuum.

When we're planning a surgical procedure, we're not only asking, “What does this tooth need?”

We're also considering the person who has to heal afterward.

Because the procedure is only one part of the process.

Your body takes it from there. 🤍

“So…how long am I actually going to be without a tooth?” 🦷

It's one of the most understandable questions to have when you're told a tooth needs to be removed—and the answer depends on what we find when we evaluate your individual situation.

For some patients, treatment happens in stages.

The tooth is removed, the site is grafted when needed, PRF may be incorporated to support healing, and the area is given time to develop a stable foundation before the implant is placed.

For other patients, the anatomy and condition of the site may allow us to remove the tooth and place the implant during the same procedure.

That can mean a faster path toward the final restoration—but faster isn't automatically better for every patient.

The goal is to determine which approach gives us the right foundation for a long-term result.

Because when we're replacing a tooth, we're thinking beyond what you'll eventually see in the mirror.

We're planning for everything underneath it, too. 🌿

Losing a tooth changes more than your smile. 🦷

Your natural tooth roots transfer forces into the surrounding jawbone when you bite and chew. That stimulation plays a role in maintaining the bone in that area.

When a tooth is removed, that relationship changes. Over time, the bone that once supported the tooth can begin to remodel and decrease in volume.

And you may not feel it happening.

This is one reason we think beyond simply removing a tooth when planning treatment.

What condition is the surrounding bone in?
Will the area need to be grafted?
Is a dental implant part of the long-term plan?
Can an implant be placed immediately, or does the site need time to heal first?

Dental implants are unique because they are placed within the jawbone, allowing us to restore more than just the visible portion of a missing tooth.

So when we're talking about replacing a tooth, we're not only thinking about what your smile will look like.

We're thinking about the foundation underneath it, too. 🌿

Healthy Smiles. Healthy Lives.

What if part of your dental procedure could use something that came directly from YOU? 🩸🌿

PRF, or Platelet-Rich Fibrin, is one of the tools we use at Biodental Health & Longevity during certain surgical procedures, including extractions, bone grafting, and dental implant treatment.

It starts with a simple blood draw.

Your blood is placed into a centrifuge, where it’s spun to create a concentrated fibrin material containing platelets and other components involved in your body's natural healing process.

From there, PRF can be used in several ways depending on the procedure.

It can be combined with bone grafting material or formed into a membrane that can be placed over the surgical area to support the surrounding soft tissue as it heals.

The idea is pretty incredible: take healing components already found in your own blood, concentrate them, and place them exactly where your body needs them after treatment.

It’s another example of how we approach oral surgery differently—not only thinking about the procedure itself, but also about what happens afterward.

Because treatment matters.

And so does healing. 🌿

“See you in six months!” 🦷

We’ve all heard it—but six months isn't necessarily the ideal hygiene schedule for every patient.

How frequently you should have your teeth professionally cleaned can depend on what’s actually happening in your mouth.

Your gum and periodontal health, biofilm accumulation, home-care habits, previous dental history, and individual needs can all play a role in determining the right maintenance schedule.

For some patients, six months may make perfect sense.

Others may benefit from more frequent hygiene visits—such as every three or four months—especially when we're actively managing periodontal concerns or trying to maintain a healthier oral environment.

At Biodental Health & Longevity, we use what we learn during your exams and hygiene visits to help customize your ongoing care rather than automatically putting everyone on the exact same schedule.

The question isn't simply, “When was your last cleaning?”

It’s “What does your mouth need to stay healthy?”

That’s personalized prevention. 🌿

PEMF sounds complicated. The experience itself? Not so much. 🌿

PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy—a non-invasive wellness modality that uses low-frequency electromagnetic pulses.

Our bodies rely on electrical activity every second of every day. Your nerves, muscles, and cells all depend on electrical and chemical signals to function.

PEMF uses controlled electromagnetic fields to interact with the body’s tissues, and research continues to explore how different forms of PEMF may influence cellular activity, circulation, recovery, and other biological processes.

At Biodental Health & Longevity, modalities like PEMF are part of the bigger picture: looking beyond an isolated tooth and considering the environment your entire body needs to function, recover, and thrive.

Because sometimes dentistry doesn't look very dental at all. 😉
