Throwing it back to *One Big Breath*, a campaign that brought people throughout Philadelphia together through a simple, powerful act: breathing. 💚

We created a micro-site that invited community members to take one big breath, creating a collective record of people acknowledging their experiences, making space for healing, and standing in solidarity against trauma rooted in racism and systemic injustice.

From moments of personal reflection to breaths shared in community, each contribution carried the same message: everyone deserves the space and freedom to heal.

Revisiting this Philadelphia moment reminds us why we started. Sometimes, acknowledging what we're carrying begins with a single breath.

Take one with us.

Some of the people who make the biggest difference in our lives are the ones who simply show up. 💚

A grandparent. A neighbor down the street. Someone at the rec center who makes sure you're okay.

For generations, Black communities have found ways to care for one another while navigating systems that have limited access to education, healthcare and opportunity.

In this Philadelphia throwback, reflects on how the effects of historical trauma continue across generations, and the importance of recognizing both the systems that created those conditions and the people who have worked to help their communities through them.

“I'm going to watch out for you. I'm going to look out for you.”

There are stories a city carries that never make it into the history books. Stories of perseverance, grief, joy and the people who have shaped its streets. 💚

“My softness is not surrender. And my strength is not a spectacle.”

An invitation to embrace every part of ourselves, including the parts we've been taught to hide.

Atlanta, let's heal together.

Everyone finds their rhythm differently. 💚

For Ahmad Abdullah-Tucker, that might mean writing, putting on music or finding something that gives you room to work through what you’re carrying.

There’s no rush to arrive at some finished version of yourself. What matters is finding what helps you keep moving, and remembering there are people around you who can move with you.

“You’re not in this alone.”

Zieair credits his mom with being that person. She saw his potential, introduced him to Gangstas to Growers and gave him the push to take a chance on something new.

“She didn’t want me to be great. She wanted to help me be great.”

Zieair (Zie Boski) took a chance on Gangstas to Growers when he was 16. Years later, he can trace some of what followed back to that decision. 💚

The program gave him more than a place to work and grow.

Therapy became part of the experience too, helping him become more comfortable being vulnerable, having one-on-one conversations and putting words to what he was feeling.

Today, Zieair owns his own company and is thinking about what it means to change the narrative for young people coming from neighborhoods like his.

This is only part of his story.
