www.theartoasis.net She has been an educator for more than 20 years, operating a recreational arts program that featured her proprietary S.M.Art Kids™ Adaptive Movement & Art curriculum. She holds multiple therapeutic art and wellness-based certifications and loves engaging and inspiring kids! She has written several books, and teaches classes for adults - writing personal memoirs, designing expressive art journals, and creating unique, colorful abstract collages & paintings! She is the co-founder of the Art Oasis, CFO (Chief FUN Officer!) and a talented preschool teacher. She has always enjoyed modifying and embellishing clothing, and creating with beads, paint and collage. She loves teaching, planning parties and helping children and adults express themselves through storytelling and art. Together, they make an extraordinary creative team and are ready to help you plan and facilitate your next paint party or fundraising experience! How We Started:

In 2020 when Life as we knew it changed, Barbara's local Bucks County housekeeping service was severely affected and eventually closed permanently. and she was laid off from her job. Like many other families, they managed the best they could under isolation, financial tension, and uncertainty of the future. Barbara turned a storage area in her garage into a makeshift exercise room that morphed into a Meditation Room, then a podcast studio, then finally into small art studio, that she referred to as "The Oasis". That space was (and still is) an Oasis in the midst of chaos, that nourishes and gives refuge to the family as they express and process emotions, manage stress and focus on a future filled with truth, goodness, beauty, color, creativity, hope, happiness and healing. It is this same spirit that guides all of our programs - from our creative enrichment programs to our mobile and online art studio.

If you’re looking for something creative, cozy, and confidence‑building for your kiddo after school (or after un‑school or home‑school), our BLOOM Afterschool Club is officially open!

It’s a 6‑week creative exploration program where kids build, learn, observe, organize, and make — with guided projects and plenty of room for freestyling. Perfect for curious artists, explorers and makers who love hands‑on fun.

Comment BLOOM below and I’ll send you a $10 off coupon code for our upcoming session!

A simple mosaic project using a small square frame, salt dough (or air-dry clay), and some random small objects.

This activity blends the tactile satisfaction of working with clay with the puzzle-like aspect of pressing small pieces into a cohesive design.

These mosaics are a creative, hands-on experience that touches multiple developmental areas including:

Sensory and tactile appeal; problem solving and spatial reasoning; patience, focus, and persistence; creativity and imagination; and confidence and self-expression.

Simple clay mosaics are fun, sensory-rich, creative, and skill-building, all in one.

We hope to see you in a class soon!

This is one of our favorites - Room to BLOOM™ process art using natural elements.

Kids like using natural materials in art because it blends play, creativity, and connection to the world around them in ways that typical art supplies and materials often can’t.

Natural art is calming, therapeutic and hands-on: children can see, touch, smell, and feel natural materials. Engaging multiple senses makes the activity more interesting and memorable. Collecting items to use, or selecting them from a tray, helps them notice details in their natural environment that they might otherwise miss.

We often hear lots of questions and comments about the items they are using in their masterpieces, and they take joy in noticing what their classmates and friends are using as well, so social interaction is a big part of the process.

There is so much more going on here than collecting/gluing/painting.

My favorite part about our process art classes is observing the children as they think, plan and create and how they interact with the materials and each other.

We invite you to join us and come see what we mean!

If your child loves painting, creating, or decorating things, here’s a fun idea for birthdays, holiday parties and special events:

Our Ceramic Style Studio™ - by The Art Oasis - in our studio or at your location.

This is a no-fire, ceramic party: No kiln, no crowds, no rush, and no waiting 10 - 14 days to pick up pieces. The kids paint and seal their projects - high-quality lanterns, boxes, figurines, banks, etc. and take them home that same day.

We can customize your event and set up a bead station or a card-making station, and a 3-foot tall “birthday cake” installation so that the kids can decorate it together while their ceramic pieces are drying. It’s such a sweet way to celebrate!

Visit www.theartoasis.net/birthdays or contact us directly for more information.

This weekend we’re doing a little "creative rest and reset" at the studio, but if your kids need something fun to do at home or on the go this weekend, here’s a sweet and simple idea:

Set out a piece of cardstock or canvas board (or cardboard) and a tiny “maker tray” with paper scraps, ribbon scraps, old clothing tags, stickers, silk flowers glue dots or glue sticks, etc. and see what they create!

Better yet: on such a beautiful day take it outside and let them find nature elements - leaves, sticks, grass, flowers, etc. and glue them onto paper or canvas board.

Kids LOVE creating their own open-ended collage pieces. It helps them focus, self-regulate, relax, think and enjoy the start of their weekend.

If you need more "at‑home" creative ideas, our Art Explorers Club Virtual Adventures membership sends out new episodes every Friday. You can learn more here:

When children feel overwhelmed, it shows up as frustration or emotional overload.

Our small‑group creative sessions in our Creative Learning Studio - (Perkasie) give kids a calm, attuned space to regulate and reset while they create something beautifully unique.

Why do we place so much emphasis on Hands-On learning in our studio?

Brain research shows us that when kids move their bodies and use their hands creatively - their brain creates a stronger connection to the activity and what it teaches. And they retain that information long-term.

In addition, using simple materials, and recyclables supports resourcefulness and creative problem solving which is an important and very useful life skill.

Come and see what we mean!

Just a tiny snapshot of the creative joy that fills our studios every day. where creativity doesn’t stop when the project ends.

Our 3 - 5-year-olds always help clean up, and they take their job very seriously: hanging up smocks, washing paintbrushes, wiping up spills and putting away the paint.

The result? A paint cart that’s magnificently mixed up, colorfully chaotic, and full of heart.

These are the moments that make our classes, clubs and camps so special. 🥰
