🚨 WHAT THE HECK IS SARCOPENIA? And why should you care after 50?
Have you ever noticed that getting up from a chair, carrying groceries, or climbing stairs seems a little harder than it used to be?
It might be time to pay attention to your muscles!
💪 Sarcopenia is the gradual loss of muscle mass and strength as we age. And it can affect much more than how strong you feel.
Losing too much muscle can make everyday activities harder, increase your risk of falls, and make it more difficult to stay independent.
But here’s the good news… you can do something about it! 🙌
Here’s what I want you to focus on after 50:
✅ Strength train. Use dumbbells, resistance bands, or your own body weight. Start where you are and work your way up.
✅ Eat enough protein. Include foods like eggs, chicken, fish, Greek yogurt, beans, and tofu to help maintain your muscles.
✅ Keep moving. Walking is wonderful, but your muscles also need resistance exercises to stay strong.
You don’t have to lift heavy weights or spend hours in a gym. Small, consistent steps can make a difference.
❤️ My goal isn’t just to help you live longer. It’s to help you stay strong enough to enjoy the life you’re living!
Let’s focus on building strength, protecting our independence, and feeling our best as we get older.
Tell me in the comments: Are you doing strength training at least twice a week? 👇
