Abdominal Surgeons Ltd was founded in 1984 by Dr. Hilario Juarez. He pioneered laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery in Arizona and was the first to become a Center of Excellence. He takes on the most complicated patients with care and compassion. He has worked at a multitude of hospitals
in the valley and donated much of his time. His practice continues to evolve today and he is looking for a great candidate to fill a very important position.

Job Title: MA/Office Assistant hybrid position that entails telework 3 days and in clinic with patients 2 days a week
Reports to: Practice Manager/MD
General Summary: This position requires interaction with patients and co-workers in a courteous, helpful and compassionate manner. Responsibilities include assisting the physician and front desk during clinic hours, prepping charts and exam rooms, instrument cleaning and medical supplies inventory. This person will also have responsibility for administrative tasks, such as appointment and surgery scheduling, point of contact for hospital staff, answering phones in a timely and professional manner, data entry, accurate documentation and communication is essential.

FTE: Yes 9-5 M-F
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two to five years experience in a clinical setting. MA certification is preferred, must have medical knowledge including insurance in and out of network and authorization processes. Must be able to multitask, organize, computer knowledge; using the internet for insurance verification auths and referrals, email, assisting patients with portal access, zoom for telemed visits. Must have a laptop and reliable internet, landline phone will be provided. A history of working from home and a reference in that aspect is highly desirable.

Dr. Juarez and his staff are taking measures to reduce exposure, the clinic is currently exercising visitor restrictions.

During the COVID-19 outbreak Dr. Juarez will provide telehealth visits to routine 2 week post operative and follow up appointments, this will need to be scheduled by office staff.

2 week post operative with specific complaints, wound care, necessary consultations that need to be face to face and urgent visits will be scheduled in the clinic at this time.

Please note - if you have a fever or cough please notify the office staff at the time of scheduling and Dr. Juarez will follow up with instructions.

Access to its hospitals and elective surgery is also limited - we will continue to work your authorization, if you are on a monthly diet with your physician, please request telehealth appointments to continue your visits.

This is a very stressful time, be kind, stay home, take what you need and leave the rest for your neighbor.

Dr. Juarez has provided surgical services in the Valley for more than 30 years. Applying his extensive experience and the latest advancements in bariatric surgery, Dr. Juarez specializes in laparoscopic surgical procedures including Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Adjustable Gastric Banding, Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG), Duodenal Switch, Revisions and endoscopic procedures.
