Some of the people we’re celebrating this month are just getting started, while others could probably tell you just how much has changed since their first day.

This October, we’re celebrating Wexford Health team members marking milestones across our organization, from their first year with us to more than two decades.

A lot can happen in between as new coworkers become familiar faces, responsibilities grow, challenges bring new lessons, and the things that once felt unfamiliar eventually become second nature. Along the way, experience builds, relationships grow stronger, and what you’ve learned becomes something you can pass along to someone else.

Those moments add up, and so does the impact of the people who continue to show up and contribute year after year.

To everyone celebrating a Wexford Health anniversary this October, congratulations on your milestone. Whether you’re finishing year one or looking back on more than two decades with us, we’re grateful for everything you’ve brought to Wexford Health along the way. 🥳👏🎉

The right care can do more when someone understands the role it plays.

For patients, that can mean knowing why a medication has been prescribed, how it supports their health, what to expect from it, and why staying consistent with treatment matters.

In correctional health care, pharmacy professionals are an important part of making that care possible. Their knowledge supports medication management, helps address questions and concerns, and works alongside the broader health care team to help patients receive safe and appropriate treatment.

During , we’re recognizing the pharmacy professionals across Wexford Health and the role they play in supporting quality patient care every day.

Thank you to our pharmacy teams for the knowledge, attention, and care you bring to your work.

Sometimes better health starts with understanding the “why” behind your care.

For Kathy Arenett, Pharmacy Manager at Wexford Health, that means making sure patients do not simply receive their medications, but understand them. What is this medication for? How does it work? Why does taking it correctly matter? And what else can someone do today that may help improve their health over time?

Those may seem like simple conversations, but they give patients something important: a better understanding of their own health and the role they can play in managing it.

During , we’re recognizing Kathy and the pharmacy professionals across Wexford Health who take the time to educate, explain, and help patients make sense of their care.

Thank you, Kathy, for sharing what you enjoy most about the work you do.

Mental health care is not always about having the perfect words. Sometimes it starts with being there, listening, and giving someone a place to be heard.

For , we are recognizing our Mental Health Team at Nueces County for the work they do each day caring for individuals in a correctional setting.

Building trust can take time, especially when someone may be struggling to talk about what they are experiencing or unsure about asking for help. Our mental health professionals meet patients in those moments, helping them work through challenges, develop healthier ways to cope, and better understand their own mental health.

Today, we are proud to recognize Vanessa Tamayo, LPC, MHP, Samantha Smart, LPC, CCHP, Behavioral Health Director, Melissa Ford, LCSW, MHP, and the commitment they bring to their patients every day. Thank you for being there when someone needs you.

The way we care for someone should never be defined by their past or their present circumstances.

For Frank Anin, PharmD, PA-C, CCHP, that belief shapes the way he approaches his work as a physician assistant in correctional health care. Frank sees compassion, respect, and clinical excellence as essential to every interaction, regardless of a patient’s circumstances.

In correctional health care, providers meet people with different histories, experiences, and medical needs. Frank’s perspective is a reminder that those differences do not change what someone deserves when they need care. Each interaction is an opportunity to listen, provide quality treatment, and recognize the individual in front of you.

It is a philosophy Frank does not just talk about. He believes deeply in the words he shared with us and works to model them each time he puts on his scrubs and shows up to serve his patients.

During , we’re recognizing Frank and the PAs across Wexford Health who bring their clinical expertise, compassion, and commitment to the people they serve.

Sometimes, the most important thing someone struggling needs to hear is not a solution. It is a reminder that they are still seen, still valued, and do not have to face what they are carrying alone.

For Ryan Block, Mental Health Counselor with Wexford Health, su***de prevention means looking beyond risk assessment and recognizing the person behind the crisis. It means creating an environment where asking for help leads to support, connection, and understanding, rather than shame or judgment.

At the center of Ryan’s message is a simple but powerful reminder: a person’s pain does not define their worth. Their circumstances do not diminish their value, and reaching out for help is not a failure. It is an act of courage and an opportunity to begin moving toward safety and support.

During , we are sharing Ryan’s full message as a reminder that su***de prevention can begin with creating space for people to speak openly, ask for help, and know that their lives have value.
