Someone with less experience than you is already speaking in rooms you want to be in.

Not necessarily because they're more qualified.

But because they took what they knew, organized it into a message, and started putting themselves out there.

How many times have you told yourself speaking is something you'll eventually do?

When business slows down. When you feel more confident. When you finally figure out what you'd talk about.

Meanwhile, you're serving clients, answering questions, and sharing knowledge that could help an entire room.

I remember preparing for one of my first speaking opportunities.
I practiced my outline, felt nervous, and wanted to make the most of the chance someone had given me.

I didn't have years of speaking experience then.
But I had something worth sharing, and I was willing to prepare.

After leading hundreds of workshops, here's what I've learned:

Confidence isn't always what gets you into the room.
Sometimes it's what you build because you finally step into it.

Speaking isn't just about being on stage.
It's a business growth strategy.

It's how people experience your expertise, understand how you help, and begin to trust you. Some may never have found you through another Instagram post.

But desire alone isn't enough.
You need a message, structure, practice, and someone who can help you refine it.

That's why I created Speak to Grow MiniMind.

Over 12 weekdays, I'll guide a small group of women entrepreneurs in building a signature keynote or workshop, with my proven formula, personalized coaching, presentation feedback, and delivery practice.

You won't figure it out alone.

October 27–November 11 | Only 6 spots

Early Bird through October 20. Payment plans available.

If speaking has been on your goals list for another year, ask yourself:

What could change in your business if you stopped waiting to feel ready and started preparing to be ready?

Your voice can open doors. Let's get you ready to use it.

I still remember the first time I was given an opportunity to speak

I had my outline written out
I practiced over & over again
I was sweating uncontrollably
And I barely slept the night before

I can still remember that feeling in my throat when I thought about standing in front of the room.šŸ˜…

And this week, I found myself thinking about that version of me

Because I got to tell a woman entrepreneur that she’d been selected for a speaking opportunity I’m creating through Rise & Speak

Her reaction was immediate

Excited
Suddenly nervous
Incredibly honored

And reading her message brought me right back to that first microphone

I know what it feels like to have someone give you an opportunity before you’ve fully figured out how you’re going to show up for it

And now, years later, I get to be on the other side of that experience

Through Speak to Grow, I’ve had the privilege of helping women entrepreneurs take the expertise they’ve spent years building and turn it into a keynote they can share with a room

We work through their message, their structure, their delivery, and the parts that need refining

But there’s something especially meaningful about watching a woman take what she’s developed and actually use her voice

That’s part of why I created Rise & Speak

And I don’t take lightly what it means to be able to open that door for someone else

Because I still remember what it felt like when someone opened it for me

She wanted more leads. I wasn't convinced more marketing was the answer

We could have spent our strategy call talking about content calendars, networking opportunities, and ways to get more eyes on her business

And believe me, there were plenty of directions we could have gone

But as I listened and started connecting the dots, something else caught my attention

Her business had evolved
The experience she was creating for her clients had evolved

But the language she was using to describe it hadn't quite caught up

And THAT was worth exploring before we added another marketing task to her plate

Because you can put so much energy into becoming more visible, but if the people discovering you don't understand what makes your work different, what happens next?

So I went digging. šŸ”Ž

I started researching established brands in her industry. Looking at how they positioned themselves, how they communicated their value, and the experience they wanted their clients to expect

And one word stood out

Effortless

Not effortless for the business owner, of course. We entrepreneurs know what goes on behind the scenes šŸ˜‚

But effortless for the client

That distinction opened up a completely different conversation about her messaging and positioning

And I kept thinking...

Maybe we didn't need more eyes yet

Maybe we needed the people already finding her to understand what made her different

THIS is one of the things I love most about strategy work

Sometimes someone comes to me asking for help with one thing, and as we talk, research, and connect the dots, we uncover something that needs attention first

Not because the original goal was wrong

But because there's an order to how we get there

And adding more marketing activities before getting clear on the message could mean putting more energy into something that isn't working the way it should

One of the things I say often is:

Clarity Creates Momentumā„¢

Momentum doesn't come from doing more. It comes from knowing what matters most

And sometimes the most valuable thing we can do in our businesses is figure out what needs to happen FIRST šŸ¤

I got to deliver some pretty exciting news to a woman entrepreneur this week. šŸ„¹šŸŽ¤

She'd been selected for the Open-Call Speaker Spotlight at my upcoming Rise & Speak Summit.

And THIS was her reaction.

Excited. Suddenly nervous. And so incredibly honored.

What made this moment especially meaningful was something she'd shared in her application.

She's spent years building a business grounded in her expertise, but she's been much more comfortable letting her work speak for itself than stepping forward and using her own voice.

And I thought about how many women entrepreneurs I know who can relate to that.

Women who are incredibly good at what they do. Who have built businesses, served clients, and accumulated years of experience.

But when it comes to stepping onto a stage and sharing what they know? That's a different kind of visibility.

One thing she shared really stayed with me.

She needed a microphone and a room of women who would understand.

And I get to help create that room. 🄹

I think that's one of my favorite parts of bringing Rise & Speak to life.

Getting to create opportunities for women to step forward, share their perspectives, and experience what happens when they allow themselves to be heard.

And for the women listening? My hope is that something they hear will get them thinking about the expertise, experiences, and messages they've been sitting on themselves.

I can't wait to see this woman take that stage on October 17.

For now, her identity stays a little surprise. 🤫

P.S. If reading this has you thinking about the message YOU might be ready to share, my next Speak to Grow MiniMind cohort launches October 27.

DM me SPEAK TO GROW if you'd like to be in on it. šŸŽ¤

Saturday night I got to volunteer at the Breast Cancer Foundation of Central Florida’s annual gala, and somewhere between the w**e pull, bubbles, laughter and a room full of people supporting an important cause, I kept thinking about my friend Patricia.

She’s actually the reason I first learned about the foundation.

Over the years, I’ve participated in this gala in different ways from playing my sound bowls at my first one to volunteering again this year.

But one of my favorite parts is seeing what Patricia creates.

Every year, she makes an original mosaic piece for the gala.

I’ve watched a swan appear one year, a magnificent lion another, and this year... an incredible Octopussy-inspired mosaic bust.

I got to watch this one come together throughout the year.

The porcelain.
The colors.
The patterns.
Even the glittering grout.

So much thought.
So much creativity.

And that’s what I love about watching my friend create.

She’s spent more than a decade leading her salon and team.

But that isn’t all of who she is.

She’s a woman who loves plants and the outdoors.
An artist who can look at broken pieces of porcelain and imagine what they could become.
A woman who serves her community.

And when she’s given those parts of herself room, something beautiful has happened:

We get to experience them too.

Entrepreneurship can sometimes convince us that everything we have should somehow feed the business.

But some things get to feed YOU.

Your curiosity.
Your creativity.
Your playfulness.
Your relationships.
Your sense of wonder.

And maybe when we give those parts of ourselves room, they end up touching other people anyway.

So yes, Saturday I volunteered for an organization I care about.

I also played with a bubble gun. šŸ˜‚

I celebrated with friends.
I admired art.

And I was reminded that there is always more of us worth making room for.

Patricia, keep creating.
Keep exploring.
Keep letting us see these beautiful parts of you.

I can’t wait to see what you dream up next.

Your energy isn't the same every day. So why do we plan our businesses like it should be?

Some people wake up at 5 AM ready to conquer the world.
Others need coffee, movement, quiet, and please don't schedule that Zoom call before 10. šŸ˜‚

Neither is wrong.

What matters is knowing you.

When are you most creative?
When do you have the energy to be visible and connect with people?
When is your brain better suited for focused, behind-the-scenes work?
When do you need more space?

And for women, that energy can shift throughout the month too.

Instead of fighting those shifts or judging yourself for them, what if you started noticing the pattern and planning with it?

High-energy window? Maybe that's when you network, record content, sell, speak, or do the work that asks more of you.

Lower-energy window? Maybe that's when you work behind the scenes, organize, plan, review, or give yourself more white space.

The goal isn't to squeeze maximum productivity out of every ounce of energy you have.

It's to understand yourself well enough to ask:

What kind of work makes sense for the energy I actually have today?

That's a very different way to build a business.
